Ok, I have a theory but bear with me…What if Scott is really guilty? Yes, I know Scott is the victim here and if I had any form of decency I wouldn’t even think such thoughts but hear me out…
I know when you cheat on your wife the standard line is to say you lost your wife (which anyone with half a brain knows means there’s many types of loss) to get some. Everyone knows that. But what if Scott meant that she had died. I know lost = death doesn’t make sense but hear me out. What if Amber was some sort of evil person who’d only continue a loving relationship with Scott if he were unattached? I know, women need to be with men who have wives but what if Amber was rare. What if it was some sort of prediction of what he’ll do to Laci?
And maybe Laci was really murdered. I mean most 8-month pregnant women who hear that their husbands have an affair generally walk long distances to commit suicide in large bodies of water. That’s a given. But what if she didn’t do what was normal and was murdered? Now don’t kill me. I know satanic, transients are the leading cause of death of pregnant people and dumping bodies in the bay is their standard M.O. but what if they’re innocent this time? I know it’s wacky but hear me out.
Scott was fishing in the bay the same morning Laci disappeared. And Laci and Connor were found within a couple of miles of where he was fishing. I know, I know. There’s no way either event could possibly be connected. The best I can do is that the transients dumped her their and its Scott’s bad luck he was in that vicinity but what if he actually dumped her there. I know it sounds crazy and couldn’t possibly happen but there’s still an infinitesimal chance that it could be true. I know hitting the lottery is more likely but it’s still possible.
Yes I know the all great fisherman buy boats in secret (in case the fish get word of it), drive out in the winter on holidays (to catch the fish off guard), great distances (in hopes of finding fish unfamiliar with you), go out in the water without bait (to gain the fishes trust), and spend less than an hour (to not wear out your welcome). I know this is standard fishing 101. But what if this was the perfect cover to dump a body?
Okay, okay. Scott’s demeanor after was perfectly normal and is not consistent with this wild theory. Yes I know the minute a loved one is missing, you should be emotionless and strong and get rid of their belongings and begin your life anew as if they never existed. I know that porn and Virgo is essential to get your sexual organs recharged after a devastating loss of sexual partner. And I know you should make attempts to keep your mistress happy by keeping up the façade that your relationship is based on at all costs. I know this and Scott did this as any normal person would but what if he was hiding the truth?
I mean Amber’s anger really got me thinking about this and I’m not sure she’s the mastermind behind Laci’s murder and Scott’s framing anymore. I’m beginning to think she and Laci had no inkling about each other. I know it’s crazy that wives and mistresses don’t know about each other and accept it and go on to have glorious relationships anyway. But maybe she didn’t know. She sounded genuinely upset in those calls.
And I know swimming in pools causes your hair to change color and grow goatees of the same color. That’s second grade science, I know. But what if it was a disguise for him to run. He did have a lot of money, equipment and clothes when he was arrested. Yes I know golf courses have acres upon acres of land and it’s best to have money and survival gear just in case you can’t find your way back and become stranded for days or weeks but what if he intended those things for something else. I know my parents and yours have given you thousands of dollars for gas and tolls but what if it was money to live on for a while. Yes, $15,000 is petty change but still it’s a decent amount of money.
I know all you NGs will kill me and tell me how ludicrous my theory is but I’m still not convinced Scott is innocent. I’m about 95% NG. But there’s still something bugging me about the case.
