I wonder if Fred Barnes has ever been wrong.
He predicted the other night that Daschle would win. If he has never been wrong, I hope this will be the first time.

Yes, but both Fred and Mort agreed that the NUMBERS actually showed Thune winning; they gave Daschle the nod because they felt he would find some "resourceful" way to win (I may be paraphrasing). Recent court activities by Daschle have shined a light on their wisdom. And believe me -- Fred, at least, would love to be wrong on this one!
