Get a rope...
Hi,
I am from RI. I am proud to say that our family of 5 proudly cast our vote for George W. Bush. We are up against the Kennedy's here. Yesterday, Teddy was waltzing all over the state with Patrick. It never ends.....
Only three hundred thousand or so votes. That's hardly more than the cemetary vote.
You know for sure the hundred fifty thousand votes for Bush were real.
I drove 108 miles round trip to vote for Bush and against Kennedy. Most Rhode islanders don't believe it's possible to drive a hundred miles in a day. That explains a lot of the Kerry votes.
No Republican other than a RINO is viable in that state.
I agree that at Republican in this state must be moderate. But Rudy Giuliani, Judd Gregg and George Pataki type Republicans could survive quite well in Chafee's state, and last I checked, they weren't crapping all over the President who is a member of their party and obstructing all his programs. Chafee is a Democrat, and has been for the past few years, and he's just looking for an excuse to leave. Let's give him some help. It won't cost us a single vote we were going to get anyway, it will send a message to other RINOs when he loses all his committee chairs, and we can try to get a team player in next time.
But he's very high maintenance. Do we really need to make all the compromises necessary to keep him in the Republican side, or would we be better off letting him go and try gaining seats in states that are more GOP friendly.
He's likely to make a lot less noise now that we have a 55 to 45 majority... His main power WAS the ability to flip control over to the Dems a la Jeffords.
Has anyone heard from Jeffords lately?
I'd rather he flip the next time he runs for election. That would be the honorable thing to do.
No problem. When he comes up for re-election, write in John.
Maybe, but he may be too moderate to win in a Democrat primary in RI.
So the RAT primary voters want Communists just like the NYC primary voters.
They have elected somewhat conservative governors.
"Hello? Senator Frist? Your old buddy Jim, here. Yes, I was just thinking...with that controversy over Arlen Specter, I have just the solution...hello? Hello?"
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent Rhode Island ping list.
Chafee lost on November 2, 2004, too. :-)
Howdy Rhody! From one Conservative RI'er to anutha.
