In probably the most poignant moment I have ever heard on talk radio, a retired Marine was weeping on the Dennis Prager show this morning.
He was choking on tears when he told Dennis that Dennis had been doing the Lord's work. Then, he asked Dennis if this finally meant that the Vietnam veterans had been vindicated. He could barely get that out. Dennis assured him that such was indeed the case.
Finally, these brave men who gave so much and were trashed by a traitor have been welcomed home.
Dennis admitted that he cried twice today in great relief that our country has been saved. The South and the values of Middle America made the difference. He went on to say that the North once saved our Union; now the South will save it.
This was the most important election of my lifetime. No matter how old you are, it is probably the same with you.
oh crap, now I'm tearing up
I too suspected that if Kerry had won, God had indeed lifted his hand from our country.
Wow.
I... wow.
God Bless him.
Thank you for posting this.
BUMP
Sound file?
I did the same. You should have heard it. Actually, Dennis may have a replay online later today. I'm not sure.
Brave men make Marines. Marines make brave men.
I posted on one of the Kerry concedes threads that I had tears in my eyes when I heard he was giving in to the obvious.
Yes
Finally, the Vietnam chapter has been closed, and it has been closed with honor. Welcome home vets, it was a long journey but you've finally come home.
We should have a parade, well overdue, honoring our Viet Nam soldiers. We should do it simultaneously with a recall initiative from Massachusetts to remove this empty suit of a senator, poor example of a vet and dishonorable traitor from his civil service job which he barely shows up for.
God bless all the Vietnam vets.
The youth are turning conservative. At least that is what I am seeing.
Kerry has been put in his place by real war hero's. Thank you vets. God Speed
That breaks my heart! Our Vietnam vets should have never been treated the way they were treated. kerry is a vile man and it is a blessing he was not elected into office.God bless our Veterans!
One of my employees announced that Kerry was going to concede and I just wanted to burst into tears, but I held it together. Now, tonight when I go home and watch the replay of Bush's acceptance speech I am sure that I will cry.
Accurate observation.
thank you FL and OH. thank you South and Midwest. and thank you, ol' salty Marine, for your service.
Thanks for more tears. I think when I am on my way home from work, a 30 min drive, I will have a good cry.
Or maybe later.
Lack of sleep, relief, tension, giddiness...whew!
The Vietnam vets will not be completely vindicated until Kerry is gone completely. We need to keep up the pressure and have him thrown out of office and exposed as the traitor and liar he is.
"This was the most important election of my lifetime. No matter how old you are, it is probably the same with you."
Absolutely. Great Post!!
You know, I felt like an idiot as I stood in line at the polls yesterday. It was all I could do not to cry. I was just so overwhelmed at how important this election and how excited I was to vote.
Maybe I don't feel so stupid for getting so emotional now.
I was going to make the same point about the south.
John
I listen to Prager daily and while I am a well documented hard@ss, I couldn't help but get choked up listening to this.
The answer is yes, for all time. Thank you again, Swift Boat Vets and POW's. Thank you.
Beautiful.
WOW!!
I was just going to make a post about this call. How moving. That call right there just gave me a different view on what this election means to some of the people here in America.
Amen to the former marine who called in. What a great exchange.
My 3 sons surely are. Two of them are over 18 - and had the wonderful privilege of getting to vote for the first time in a Presidential race. Their friends are quite conservative and pro-life, too. It's awesome to engage in conversations with them. How refreshing.
Go to http://www2.krla870.com/listen/ after 12:00 Pacific, and the show will be archived. About 75- 90 minutes into the show.
Thanks for putting this up.
Cut it out cut it out!
Now I can't help thinking about the unborn who were just spared from an IRONCLAD right to abortion.
This is truly the most important election since Abraham Lincoln...
Not me. Jus' sumthin' in my eye, thass all.
I know I've prayed and prayed for President Bush to win re-election; however, I'm going to have to make one more request of the man upstairs. Please Lord, let our President mention the vindication of our brave Vietnam veterans today. Thank you and amen.
I told an aquaintance of mine (liberal) that the youth is turning conservative, she was shell shocked. I am seeing this more and more.
They are sick of all the transparent tactics that are taking place in politics today. I am proud of them.. There is hope for our country yet.
Welcome home Marine.
I read somewhere online last night that from now on, November 2nd should be Veteran's Day. If nothing else, it was this year. God bless them all.
As I waited in line and looked around, I had one thought. Some of the idiots around me were cancelling out my vote.
I was listening to Dennis today, and I could tell he was deeply moved by the President's victory.
Great idea....grandmarshals should be the Swifties...sign me up, I'll help...
Oh, wow.
This sentiment was expressed on several threads today. Truly touching and wonderful.
Thanks for the post.
Doug, you and I have been around on this forum for a long time.
Not only was this the most important election in our lifetimes, it was the most important event to ever happen on FR.
This has been like on of those events you look back on and KNOW that it was scarier than you allowed yourself to believe at the time.
No, I think they've been vindicatd. It's over.
It is very hard not to weep tears of joy today. Thank you to everyone on this forum who served our country then and now, in uniform or out. This was a most imporant mission ! You are all patriots.
Thank you so much for posting this my friend. All of my family voted for "W" here in OH including my first time voting 20 yr old twin sons. Moreover, my daughter who is 35 weeks pregnant stood in the rain for 3 hours to make sure kerry would be defeated.
WELCOME HOME IN DEED MY DEAR VIETNAM VETERANS!
I love you all!
