That is just how she waves. When she waves with her right hand, her thumb sticks out past the rest of her hand and her right pinky is bent. It's just one of those quirks that makes her special. On another thread we were noticing how Jeanna claps differently than most. Her left palm is pointing up and her right hand claps down on the left hand. Just endearing qualities I think.

Thanks, Gretchen just posted a few more photos with her not waving and the pinky is straight. Yeah, you point out her thumb...in the pic I checked when I read this, it looks like it's half gone!

I know you didn't mean it like this, but Laura Bush doesn't need quirks to be special. I'm very pleased over the outcome of the election - not merely for the political reasons but I'm happy for the Bush family as people. Kind, decent people have been supported and vindicated by the electorate and that makes me feel that happy endings really do come around once in awhlie.

In one of her biographies, a high school friend of Laura's says that Laura would practice her "Miss America" wave. That's probably where her unique wave came from.

Jenna claps like the Florida Gators' fans clap.

Huh? I always thought that was the "normal" position. Wonder if it has something to do with whether one is right handed or left handed. My right hand does the clapping onto my left hand. Feels strange to do it the other way. Interesting!
