Carole King: Why the Liberal Left doesn't get it
Twin Falls, Idaho - The Times News ^ | 10/22/04 | Carole King

Posted on 11/03/2004 3:24:43 PM PST by astroman1

Songwriter Carole King is a long time resident of Idaho. Her home is just North of Sun Valley, where John Kerry has a vacation home. She stumped for fledgling democrats across our state. She wrote this comment in a letter to our local newspaper:

"If the current situation isn't working for you, please vote for Sen. Kerry. Women: you don't have to vote the way your father or husband does. It's a secret ballot."

CAROLE KING Stanley

I personally witnessed while waiting in line at the polls, many energized people insulted by her remarks - with the willingness to wait up to two hours to vote because of comments like this. Is it any wonder why the elite Left lost this election? They truly believe that women are being supressed by their conservative men...

Dear Carole: You know, you don't have to use your married name. Bless your little heart.

I may be mistaken on your intent, but just in case I'm not, Stanley is the name of her hometown, a beautiful little area in the middle of the Sawtooth mountains. Wonderful place to visit, but I hate to see people living there, spoiling the beauty.

It must be true. Her husband, Don voted for Bush.

I know John Kerry personally. He has the strength, courage, intelligence, integrity and experience to lead America

That may very well be, but I don't know you personally. How can I trust you?

Also, another little bit of info...Stanley, Idaho is "the home of the lawnchairs"...which you will see at the local baseball diamond. No finer place to see fourth of July fireworks, but take your down parka, even in July its cold at night !

How do we know that her husband voted for Bush?

Sorry for the posting error - my bad. Stanley is the town she lives in. It isn't her married name.

"Women: you don't have to vote the way your father or husband does."

And I don't have to vote the way some singer or songwriter does.
