When I first heard those phony exit polls over the car radio, I knew they were (ahem) garbage. But it was still very disturbing. Remembering the effect phony polls had in Florida in 2004, I feared a lot of Republican voters would just give up and not vote.

While still driving, I prayed hard.

"Dear God," I prayed, "Let your will be done. I know You work in mysterious ways, and that it may not be your will that George Bush win this election. But OTOH dear Lord, if it IS your will that he win, then please inspire all good men and women in America to take strength, ignore these polls, and GO VOTE!"

I believe thousands like me were praying the same thing at the same time. And I believe our prayers were answered.

I was never worried at all. There is a righteous might in simply being born American, for the most part. It's not something Peter Jennings, Ted Kennedy, or John F. Kerry would know anything about. GOD LOVES FReepers!
