If it wasn't for young Americans fighting and dying on your soil, you would all be speaking German and celebrating Hitler's birthday.

I think this is somewhat unfair, especially if you are considering Great Britain part of Europe. Remember, the United States can't exactly claim the high road in World War II. We were drug in, kicking and screaming. Britain was essentially going it alone for almost two years.

We don't count the England as part of Europe. Scotland and Wales, maybe. Even Canada. But not England.

I see we need to review a bit of history. Britain acted just like France and the rest of the Europeans before world war two: They appeased Hitler and trashed Winston Churchill. We may not have committed troops until 1942, but we were supporting them with arms and escorting their convoys in the Atlantic way before Pearl Harbor.

Many of my British friends would strike you for calling them "Europeans." They proudly defy that label.

You seem to forget that the US was still suffering from
a major economic depression when WWII started in Europe.
More importantly, the US had been dragged into WWI. Why
would Americans want to get involved in another Eurodisas-
tor?
