Hello, everyone! This is my first post, though I originally came to Free Republic via a link on the Drudge Report. As such, I have been lurking for I guess around 5 years. However, given the truly significant events that unfolded yesterday and today, I wanted to share with all of you some of the remarable achievements I compiled that our great president, the Republicans, and conservatives everywhere amassed in this last election.

I have listed the goals in three categories, starting with 4 Critical ones that were vital to sustaining what President Bush has achieved so far. I followed those goals with Important ones that should significantly add to our ability to make progress in the near future. Finally, I listed some Nice to Have Goals that enable our folks to effectively blunt a large portion of the spin Democrats, Liberals, and the Old Media will try to sell the public on now that they have been so thoroughly repudiated.

In total, we are witnesses to a historic outcome that should finally put rest the validity of our President and the direction he desires to lead this nation in.

P. S. While I have not posted prior to now, it has still been a true pleasure learning, laughing, and sometimes lamenting with the patriots who make up Free Republic. Cheers to all!

26. Demonstrated to the world that Americans are truly free people and that we left Europe to escape elites and we continue to defy them. We are Americans. We rule ourselves.

Great great night, no doubt!

I am however, deeply saddened to note that we Texans didn't oust Frost and Stenholm's border-jumpin' buddy, Leticia Van de Puke from the state senate :(

I agree and its all due to the "Internet." Our side's ability to now obtain our information without the Old Media first filtering it, is, and will continue to, change this country for the better.

I've often wondered if Bush really would block Clinton from taking over the UN. Skirt-chasing aside, he's really not any worse than the people who've been in charge there before. If the whole rest of the world backed Clinton for the job I'm not so sure Bush would block him. What would Bush gain from it? After all, if Bush has done anything it's show that the UN is totally irrelevant to American foreign policy. Bush could OK him and still do anything and everything he wants.

That may be true but Texas gave us President George W. Bush; and if that isn't something to stand up and shout about, I don't know what is ... :)

You are correct Sir! And okay, so "deeply saddened" is an exaggeration and the greatest of quibbles given the smashing victories we had all over this great land. :)

I agree, Clinton certainly can't be any worse than what we already have. Sure, he's be media whoring all over the place, and maybe taking some of the attention from Bush, but at the same time, that could provide Bush some cover from the hostile MSM.

William Clinton as the head of the United Nations would be a complete disaster. I am certain that at every opportunity he would continue to covertly and overtly seek to subjugate our country's best interests for the "greater good" of the world. I would be stunned and more deeply saddened then Daschle, if our president ever allowed a stage hog like Clinton a spot at the table of the corrupt UN (not that he wouldn't, mind you, fit right in).

You're right, but how is that any different from what the UN has been doing already? Remember, Bush will do anything he wants and tell them to take a hike. They're irrelevant.

Who would want to give that pontificating jerk a platform to continue betrayal of his country for the benefit of his "insignificant other?"

2. Retained ability to nominate United States Supreme Court Justices.

I appreciate how high you put this on your list, it was also an extremely high priority for me in this election. But also be aware that the President also nominates District and Appeals court federal judges. This too makes a huge difference in how we are governed.

On the negative side, there are really very few things we missed. The Senate race in Colorado. Failing to do better in the state legislature in California.. some state legislature losses in Colorado, Connecticut. uhh. Not too bad at all. We got so lucky in Lousiana with Vitter getting over 50%. Narrowly averted disaster with Bunning in Kentucky.

Bush will not be President after four years but the Slick One would still be at the United Nations. I see no reason in giving him anything to fulfill his dreams of being the "leader" of the world's nations. He must never again have a platform from which to damage the integrity of this country and the honor of our Armed Forces.

MY 2 cents.....but, didn't want to post a vanity....

TOP Ten Reasons I’m Glad President Bush was re-elected…….

10. The Feminist “movement” is about wiped out.
9. No more Kerry and his LONG face, and LONGER diatribes of lies.
8. America is waking up to what “conservatism” really means, and maybe even to our Constitution.
7. The WORLD is waking up to what AMERICA really means.
6. Free people (and those longing for freedom) around the world WON, also.
5. NO MORE Political Ads for four MORE YEARS! (But, hey, that’s what freedom allows us.)
4. The “angel in the whirlwind” is sticking around.
3. Our Prayers really DID work!
2. My Grandchildren MAY not have to FIGHT terrorists in America.
1. The people with “BRAINS and COMPASSION” won against the so-called “intellectuals” on college campuses and in the MSM.

Your point regarding District and Appeals Court judges is well taken. There is no doubt given the judicial activism ("legislative theft") of the liberals, that it was absolutely vital that Bush win re-election. Our Supreme Court is going to be positively reshaped (especially, if we prempt Arlen Specter from taking over the Chair of the Judicial Committee).

While we did have some disappointments, our achievements were so overwhelming that I can't imagine having hoped for more ... : )
