A man I went to school with came home from the Gulf War and was dead within 3 years with a Pancreatic Cancer. His story is one of the stories told in the SHOWTIME special THANKS OF A GRATEFUL NATION. They are composites, and many of the common symptoms spoken of in the movie , he had.

He had a cleft baby, which I think was the 4th most common birth defect of children born to GWI vets.

His widow, daughter, and son are now living fine, his widow fought to get recognized by the government, and she won a few years ago.
