Like others in the Bay Area, I was huddled with friends around the television set Tuesday night, my son pressing a blue-donkey or red-elephant sticker on each state as the returns rolled in. As we held out hope for Ohio, one friend related a story that, in retrospect, helped me understand Bush's convincing victory as well as any I have heard.
A young man, my friend said, was walking door to door on her street a few weeks ago to raise money for the Kerry-Edwards ticket. When he knocked on the door of one house, the owner responded to the young man in a huff.
"I'm a Republican!'' she said. "Didn't you see my flag?''
That, in the end, is what it boiled down to.

I am not into gloating. I am simply awestruck at the depth and breadth of Democrat cluelessness.
Gloat twice as much this election as last election's joy was robbed from us by Gore!
Whoever this guy was. Great response.
All your flags are belong to us! They always were......
Gloating is good, and better for the innards than schadenfreude.
dumbfounded at how liberals will occasionally say THEY are the moral ones because they support gay marriage and legal infanticide. Isn't there something in the New Testament about how a time will come when evil is called good and good called evil? Looks like the time has come.
Didn't Kedwards debate whether or not they were going to even include the American Flag on their campaign logo? Very telling...
This stuff depresses me because it makes me realize just how much the left has replaced God with Government. The author equates morality with using government to fix all problems. That and the usual crap about the war being based on false pretenses.
It is social as well as religious. Is it moral to wage war on a country that did not attack us, and to wage it on false pretenses? Is it moral to stuff more money into the pockets of the wealthy while teachers buy their own crayons and patch their own classroom walls, and while people with mental illness live on the streets and in prison cells for lack of services?
Is it moral to deny two people the joy of committing their lives to one another in marriage? Is it moral to prevent scientists from pursuing cures to devastating diseases because of our leaders' personal religious convictions?
Liberalism is your religion, lefty, enjoy your long painful trip into oblivion.
I'd like to quote Dick Cheney and use another F-word in my reply to the author......"F"-you. You are still clueless.,P>someone should forward this post to the author.....since I cannot do it from this computer.
Gloating rules!
Maybe they'll wake up to how deluded they have become -- misled by Marxists in the colleges and media. Whatever their values and no matter how sincere, they are NOT American values but something queerly perverse and hollow.
FROM THE ARTICLE:
"I saw that John Edwards was right about the two Americas.
But the two Americas are not divided by money but by belief systems that have drifted so far apart we barely recognize each other anymore."
"Our belief systems - - what is right and wrong, what is patriotic and what is not, what is truth and what is not -- are so different and so dramatically shape how we interpret news and information that we seem no longer to be living within the same culture."
I wonder, with this woman's obvious psychological disabilities, if she should be allowed to vote
Remember right after 9/11, the MSM talking heads briefly sported lapel pin flags, then removed them saying they didn't want to be viewed as partisan, meaning they expressly rejected the notion that they were pro-American. I was surprised when Kerry started wearing a flag-it probably cost him part of his base.
If I were a homeowner, I'd want the soliciter's name, so that if I refused to donate, and then got vandalized, I'd know where to send the cops.
My son who was going to vote Kerry but in the end (with no influence by me) voted Bush put it a different way (when I asked him why he was going to vote Bush now).
"Kerry is Sketch!"
I read the whole article. It appears that the writer cannot
think for herself. All of her points are out of the
idiot Democrat playbook. I don't think they can think
out of the box. Kinda like Hitlers generals, when they
boasted that the "farmboys of the USA" could not beat
their battle hardened, well trained soldiers....
