A couple of weeks ago, Michael Moore was touring the US offering unregistered voters incentives such as free "clean underwear" in return for a promise that they would show up at the polls. I'm not sure whose underwear he was giving away - his own or someone else's - but, if it was the former, the grateful recipients evidently accepted a pair, went and camped out in them up in the Rockies, and forgot to return to town for election day.
The swollen turn-out on Tuesday the biggest since 1968 killed one of Moore's most cherished myths: that if only more people voted, the natural "liberal" "progressive" nature of the American people would manifest itself. "Slackers are going to rise up in this election," he predicted. "The slacker motto is: Sleep till noon, drink beer, vote Kerry."
Well, two out of three ain't bad.
According to Moore, there are hardly any conservatives in the US, but they do a great job of persuading all the progressives to stay away from the polling booths by putting obstacles in their path, like not giving them free underwear. So the long queues reported at polls were assumed by the media to be proof of that big pro-John Kerry youth vote we always hear about.

I suspect Michael Moore and the other Libs need that clean underwear about now.
Michael Moore giving HIS underwear to the homeless is a real bit of altruism. After all a homeless person could use underwear of that size as a pup tent. What a guy....
Michael Moore no longer matters.
And if they're out there, that behavior is what killed them. They overslept, and ended up voting drunk.
I hope the demos put Michael Moore in charge of their 08 elections
I don't know if any of you have checked his site but he just has a picture of Bush made from the pictures of the soldiers who have died in Iraq. Oh how clever. What a complete tool.
I wish someone would put strychnine in his guacamole!
All liberal myths died years back. But they still want to eat us alive . . . |
"I have earned political capital and I intend to spend it."
Man, I love this guy.
I hope the demos put Michael Moore in their 08 elections.
If you stop and think about it, Mikies approach was doomed to failure right from the start.
He was essentially telling the youth that were for Kerry that, in his opinion, they were too stupid to wear clean underwear.
How can anyone engender support by insulting their target audience?
The young in this nation are not as stupid as the Moores of the world think.
LOL - And like all liberal give-aways, there's always a catch. In this case, two enormous holes in the "roof".
A few thoughts:
1) Re Michael Moore: Has anyone considered that MOORE is olde english for ISLAMIC? Huh? Huh? I didn't think so.
2) Moore himself came out fabulously in this election. His movies made way over 100 million and he had a book as well that allowed him to cash in on his flock. I'd be interested to know how much he plowed back into the election campaign. He may even be a closet Republican given the better treatment of taxes.
3) We really need to have a purge of liberals throughout the government and media. Some need to go to prison. Some need to be blacklisted. Some need to be shunned. Some just need to get out of politics or political reporting. I'm not calling for violence, only justice. The time has past for trying to heal wounds without reckoning.
Know Justice, Know Peace,
No Justice, No Peace.
Look at 1972, 1984 and 2004; the left hated Nixon, Reagan and Bush and the left lost in all three.
I hope this is the last we'll be hearing about
Michael MooooOOOOOooo

I disagree
I want to see Michael Moore all over the place.
I want him showing up next to every Democratic candidate possible. Stuck like a lamprey eel to every liberal running for election.
I want him living in Hillary's guest bedroom, chauffering Obama's limo, polishing Springsteen's guitars, and tending Barbra Streisand's garden.
I believe his appearance at BOTH conventions was a GREAT boost to the re-election of W.

I of course agree with you. I found it disgraceful that he took money from the colleges he spoke at.
I was shaking my head last night when I glimpsed to see who Larry King had on his show. He had Ben Bradlee and others, talking not about the next four years, or anything in anyway to indicate a bringing together of people in the USA for the common good. No what were they taling about? 2008 and the election of Hillary.

Shunning. Good concept, works for Quakers, who are some of my ancestors. Refuse to listen to, associate with, or patronize the louts.
Hey, we will always have the last laugh on this guy. For one thing, can you imagine what the bathroom in his house smells like?
