You know, it's hard for me, an atheist to not resent this. I'm a Republican, and I'm a Republican because I can see the benefits that Republican policy brings, and I also see wehre Democratic policies fail. To say that if they found religion, it would make them Republican is insulting.

The point isn't that Republicans are Christians, but that Christians are Republican.

I'll see if I can find the survey showing that 90% of church-attending (white) Christians vote Republican. Ann Coulter cited it in a column, but I'm not sure where to find it on line. If the Dems become practicing Christians, either their personal politics, or the platform of their party, will necessarily change.
