In September, I wrote of the Palestinian children's role model -- pretty 18 year-old suicide bomber and children's television presenter Zainab Ali Issa Abu Salem (earlier article on Salem).

The power of this image was not lost on the 'political and social services' wing of Hamas. The picture at left (with caption translated from the Arabic), appeared in issue 38 of the Hamas children's newspaper Alfatah of September 22, 2004. [image at link, you have been warned]

The social and educational wing of Hamas, whose members UNRWA chief Peter Hansen employs without concern, know how to create the right educational environment for Palestinian children. The magazine has stories, poems and pictures attractive to children, so that they absorb the accompanying messages of hatred and encouragement to violence, terror and suicide.

Caption from the Hamas childrens' newspaper Al-fatah: "Suicide Bomber Zainab Abu Salem: Her head separated from her pure body, and her Ra'ala [Muslim headscarf] remains to decorate [her face]. Her place is in paradise, where in the highest heavens, Zainab ... sister [who has been raised to the level] of men."

I did not want to post the image itself at Free Republic. It shows the suicide-bomber's severed head lying on the sidewalk, scarf still in place.

I have seen a lot in my life, including the barbarously mutilated remains of our dead soldiers, but I never imagined that such depravity as this was possible, that this could be published in a children's newspaper as a role-model and an object of admiration. This is the organization that the UN, the Euro elites, and many of our own media and academic elites fall over themselves to praise and justify.

I would have thought the scarf would have come off. Strange.

Strange things can happen in explosions, as in tornadoes. Suicide bombers normally have the charge wrapped around their midsection just below the chest. This and the upper torso are instantly shredded by the shrapnel and concussion. To some extent, this will shield the head, causing it to fly off more or less intact. It is also possible that she took extrordinary measures to keep the scarf in place, super-glue or something. The image could also be an outright fake, with the scarf added by Hamas propagandists for the sake of modesty. The important thing is its publication in a children's newspaper as the real thing.

So for all her trouble, all she gets is to be changed into an arab man. What a gyp!

And why do they remain virgins for thousands of years to come?

Could it be because the Islam-0-Killers wear the explosives around their waists and their heads are not the only "parts" that get detached? Well at least their heads are easy to find...
