Parents at an Illinois school are complaining about a cross-dressing activity held during the school's "Spirit week" leading up to the homecoming. For the 2nd year in a row, officials at the school are under fire for encouraging boys and girls to come to school attired as the other gender on an "opposite sex" dress-up day.
At least one parent, however, does not find the schools idea of fun amusing. Laura Stanley has an eight grader, two fifth garders and two second graders at Carrie-Mills Stonefort and is concerned because she feels the schools "opposite sex day" activities send a message of gender confusion.
Also, the Illinois mom feels the event sexually exploits her 3 daughters asnd other young girls who attend the school, and creates a sexually-charged atmosphere primed for harassment. She says when she came to the school to sign out her children that day, she saw a boy wearing a pink mini-skirt of indecent length. Meanwhile, some male students stuffed their shirts to create mock breasts, which led to all kinds of lewd, juvenile attempts at "humor."

So the young ladies get to look up the guy's skirt for a change?
charming
Yet another attempt to instill a "cross-dressing" day at yet another school in America.
Not to worry. The "cross gender community" will react with outrage and put an end to this nonsense. Kind of like the wiccans ending Halloween fun.
This will certainly make the kiddies more competitive in the global marketplace. </sarcasm>
Yikes! Thinking back to my school days...trying to picture my teachers, principal and the School Board's reaction to this madness.
HAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
If the boys are wearing little miniskirts, who's being exploited?
That being said, since it is "Spirit Week" (is that the new PC Term for Homecoming??) if this kind of thing were kept to the high school only, it's no big deal. There's also Hat Day, Pajama Day, etc. I remember something as provactive as this during my Homecoming weeks -way back when- but don't remember specifically. It very well could have been cross dressing day, because I vaguely remember wearing my dad's ties to school.
However, forcing it down into the elementary level is a little crazy. This is for the older kids.
Parents, Pro-family Leaders Condemn School's Cross-Dressing day.
As well, The Los Angeles branch of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) has posted a school lesson plan on its site that includes a lesson on cross-dressing.

What BS.
And not the cross-dressing day, but the attempt to make this seem like an ominous thing. It starts with the headline, using the plural "parents" and then proceeding to quote the singular "parent", the one mom who was "distressed". So they could only find one parent who was concerned, eh?
The folks distressed by this are no different than the people (almost none of them native Americans) who scream that it's politically incorrect and terribly wrong to name sports team "Warriors", "Indians", and the like.
Get over it. Or maybe get a new Constitutional amendment that protects anyone from ever being offended (for any reason) ever again. We have bigger fish to fry.
Wearing your dads tie isn't even in the same realm as a boy wearing a miniskirt, or boys stuffing a shirt to create mock "breasts".
As well, the lewd jokes resulting from this activity the article mentions do not create a wholesome atmosphere at all.
Cross-dressers are sick people and even an attempt to display similiar behavior should never, ever be encouraged at any level or grade.
Seems like the pervert enablers forgot about that old line of keeping stuff like this in the "bedroom".
WHy do we find this so appaling !! It's got me seeing red. God has given us the ability to Love and to Hate and the ability to understand why things make us love nad hate. This I HATE. These so called HATE crimes laws are nothing more than trying to control our freedoms and do away with our belief in God and his teachings. The Bible itseld has become outlawed in many countries. We must stand against these sick people and remove from office all who support them and there agenda.
So you think this type of activity is no big deal?
Allowing junk like this to go on around impressionable youth should never be tolerated. Nor ignored.
No school should ever try to make an atmosphere for cross-dressers.
Cross-dressing/cross-dressers is/are to be pitied, maybe even mocked, never encouraged.
Please don't make an attempt to connect this with Native American culture. Native Americans at least have something to be upset about. The terms Indian, ete are part of their culture. Cross-dressing isn't a culture, it is a disorder. The people who engage in it need help.
BTW, while you may think this "thing" isn't that ominous, or should be ignored, one parent who is upset should not be ignored. Anyway, there shouldn'tb have to be one parent upset. This crap shouldn't be going on at all!!!
Since you say that we have "bigger fish to fry" are you one of those who can't fry a small fish and big ones at the same time?
Society can take care of junk like this and other things, as well, AT THE SAME TIME. Ok?
Glad you got it.
Home-schooling keeps looking better and better.
I agree completely and your comments. This type of sh*t is way way over the top. I would be on the war path if the school that my kids attended tried to pull this crap.
I noticed your veiled Old Testament Biblical reference.
These were abominations in Gods sight in the Old Testament. Mixing fibers, plowing an ass with an ox, but they weren't considered as bad an abomination as was cross-dressing, homosexuality, lesbianism.
As well, while the old testamnet ceremonial demands on not mixing fibers, etc were done away with in the New Testament, cross-dressing, homosexuality and lesbianism being an abomination in Gods sight haven't been done away with.
Cross-dressing is such sick behavior. Its sad you eveidently don't realize that.
