Thank you, Radix, for linking it. I wish with all my heart that everyone could hear these stories from our very own soldiers.

I spoke with a teenager this morning about some of these things. She didn't have a clue. Her parents voted for Kerry ( and her uncle is over there)!

I am sending care packages to Iraq and was buying more stuff to send at Target this morning and mentioned what I was doing to the lady checking me out. She said it was wonderful, that she and her husband were retired military. She said several times , "it's so sad over there" I agreed and said, "but there are good things happening, too ", and she replied, "I hope so."

You mean I'm not the only one in the line at Target explaining why I'm buying 30 tubes of lip balm and 40 packages of peanut butter crackers?!

We have a troop support program where I work and every time I go somewhere to get goods together for A'ghan or Iraq, I tend to draw curiosity. I don't hesitate to tell people what I'm doing to make them think, at least for a moment, about those who serve and to take their focus off of the negative. Don't know how long "the spell" lasts, but I do my best.

See you at Target, Valleygal!
