Why Americans Hate Democrats—A Dialogue The unteachable ignorance of the red states.

I say forget introspection. It's time to be honest about our antagonists. My predecessors in this conversation are thoughtful men, and I honor their ideas, but let's try something else. I grew up in Missouri and most of my family voted for Bush, so I am going to be the one to say it: The election results reflect the decision of the right wing to cultivate and exploit ignorance in the citizenry. I suppose the good news is that 55 million Americans have evaded the ignorance-inducing machine. But 58 million have not. (Well, almost 58 million—my relatives are not ignorant, they are just greedy and full of classic Republican feelings of superiority.)...

...Here is how ignorance works: First, they put the fear of God into you—if you don't believe in the literal word of the Bible, you will burn in hell. Of course, the literal word of the Bible is tremendously contradictory, and so you must abdicate all critical thinking, and accept a simple but logical system of belief that is dangerous to question. A corollary to this point is that they make sure you understand that Satan resides in the toils and snares of complex thought and so it is best not try it.

If they analyzed themselves in these terms rather than projecting it onto religious people, they'd be making great strides in figuring out why they are losers.

""they are just greedy and full of classic Republican feelings of superiority"

LOL. Greedy, you mean like insisting that the US become a socialist state like all of Europe when you could JUST FRIGGIN MOVE!? Feelings of superiority, you mean in the fashion you talk down to red-state folks as being retards? Example no. 1,204,953,958,938,938 of dem projection.

Oh yeah, I'm an atheist, and I still voted for Bush. As much as this post-election dem tantrum annoys me, it pleases me to no end to see they still don't get why they lost. I mean, Kos says "nix McAuliffe", and replace him with DEAN!? Please, Dems, please do this. We need this. :D

What a bunch of tripe!

As one of the 59 million "ignorant", I'll match my doctorate against his any time!
I'm also a practicing Christian (Aghhh! another blight on the landscape!)...since birth. And I didn't lose my
ability to think after smoking dope or sniffing coke.
So, I'm not a "born again Christian." Don't mean to
brag, but God and I go way back together...I never lost Him.(I'm 75 - but far from senile!)
During 33 years in the class room I've seen first hand what the Liberal thinking in our schools have done to our kids. First it was the dress code; then the lack of discipline (how many times I've heard kids say "I've got my folks right here!" and the parents say, "I trust my child completely!"); then the movies got more explicit in language and sex, followed by teen pregnancies, diseases
and drugs; kids going on 13-14 were creatively going on 32! With all that to indulge in, believe it or not, the kids started to think of school as a waste of their time! And the parents / government said WE TEACHERS were falling
short in making school interesting and challenging to the
kids? Hello!

I too feel the need to express myself to this person. She is so off the mark! She is in the dark eating Horse manure and she is about to turn into a FUNGUS!

I think that she should get back to church and really study the Bible and her religion. That's is where she should start: In the Beginning .....

LOL. Yep. We're all ignorant hicks that don't know anything. Good thing we have those cityslickers to tell us the world is round and everything else that we're too dumb to figure out.
