"Clinton (and especially Kennedy) be defeated and Republicans in their place"

Unless Guiliani runs for Senate in NY (doubtful with even talk of Pres 2008) or Hildabeast decides to take 2 years off before attempting to run for Pres 2008, it's unlikely you'll see a Rebublican senator in NYS, IMHO. (Man I miss big Al).

I know a few other GOP NY'ers have taken my comments as a swipe at them. NOT SO!. I appreciate their tireless and committed hard work and efforts for the GOP, but it needs to be better co-ordinated throughout the whole state. That being said...unless the GOP faces the truth here in NY, we will continue to lose ground.

Case in point: Even up here in red territory, people who voted BUSH for President continue to split their ticket for Democratic senators, NYS Assembly (we just losts 3 more seats to dems). Other local seats that could go GOP don't because no one is familiar with the candidates, no matter how qualified.

Name recognition and what the heck either Mills or O'Grady (who I voted for) stood for was just about nill even in our Republican county.

Flyers that people chuck from their mail boxes don't cut it. The GOP needs to motivate folks to get out and work harder to take back the ground we've given since Al D'Amato was senator.

Rick Lazio was a great guy and a good candidate (in my estimation). I think that had several factors been different in that campaign he might have gotten elected. I don't even know who the GOP would put up as a candidate that would have serious name recognition in the red counties to motivate turn out to counter the NYC vote.

Now I'm hearing old Chuckles or Spitzer might run for Gov. Just great! The fun is just beginning here in NY. I'm sure it will make for some great conversation in the near future.

I hope all NYers here on these boards will continue to support and work to turn things around here in the Empire State, and I thank all those who have been so committed to that goal already. Sorry for the rant...but I'm just so convinced something has to be done here in NY while there is so much red territory left outside the city.

PS. I'm committed to the defeat of Hillary and putting up a good Republican challenger in '06 despite the odds...

Rudy will not be on the top of the GOP ticket in '08. The Republican Presidential candidate will almost certainly be a governor from the Old South.
