The results of Tuesday's election have driven Democratic ultra liberals completely batty, with some now saying George Bush's victory was actually worse than the 9/11 attacks.
An online poll conducted by the web site Democratic Underground found that 72 percent agree Bush's reelection was the more devastating of the two events, with 28 percent who said it wasn't.
DU members were invited to explain their votes. One typical response:
"9/11 was an outside attack on our country and was terrible. 11/3 was an inside attack on everything our country stands for and should be, it will have been far worse historically."
Other DU'ers, however, realized how nutty the comparison was. Complained one poster:
"This way out attitude, I'm afraid, is what contributed to our loss Tuesday. How mainstream is it to believe that an election loss is more depressing than one of the worst days in the history of our land?"
Unfortunately this sentiment isn't isolated.
Vegsource.com had a small headline that read 11/2 is the new 9/11. They finally removed it this morning when several conservatives complained.
If you visit DU (be very wary, stupidity is contagious) you will find glimmers of sanity in the asylum. But not a lot. DU is supposed to be a mainstream Dem board, but from the comments I've read from it's members over the years there, it seems that many are to the left of Castro. They are that wigged out.
I know it is insanity there. I go to look for a differing opinion on subjects so I can be objective and the hate that harbors in that forum is palpable. They need to get over it.
you might get the same effect by visiting your local mental health facilities. of course, the mental patients won't be as blatanly anti-religious.
What, you haven't heard? There is no "mainstream" democrat. The democratic party is nothing more now than a front organization for the Communist Party USA.
This person gets it... the fact of the matter is the lefts kook fringe, tinfoil hat, black helicopter branch (aka the Micheal Moore branch)became there driving force and face to the that country and as much as this whipped up extra votes and turn out on there side it whipped up twice as many votes on ours
Both sides have there wing nuts that we have to keep a handle on the left traditionally does a worse job at this
In fact you will find that some tinfoil hat nuts jobs have play to both sides left and right and people rejected by the right for just being total whacko are now accepted members of the left
This is not hard to believe. To vote Democratic means forgetting about 9/11, or mentally putting it in the "nussance" column, or the "that was a long time ago" column. No one who truely understands the threat could have voted for Kerry.
My wife (were she not computer phobic) would find DU just as much a home as I find FR. She's a left coast therapist (Marriage and Family Counselor). This election has her and her colleagues devastated, They feel suffocated, like America is really being taken over by Nazi's.
The left is made up of two parts - the leaders and the followers. The leaders are the power hungry liars, thieves, traitors, and tyrants, such as Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Hillary and Kerry. The followers are sheeple to whom the rhetoric of the left, the constant blaming of others, the constant confusion of individual and group, the constant plays to fears and emotions, play well.
The attack on 9/11 didn't cause them much grief, because no one chose to use it extensively as the basis for inflammatory rhetoric. The election of 11/3 is causing them much grief, because the leftist leaders are using it as such, and have set it up as such.
an interesting insight, well stated
RKBAD, see a similarity in thought between this and some of what I have written to you?
Thanks for the kind words.
