Maureen Dowd's latest article is typical Times. Had to see the reaction here. My email response to her is also posted below.
When are people like you going to realize that Americans, on the whole, simply don't see things the way the effete insulated liberal "intellectuals" like you do? You cry all day about "division", without realizing that the only ones divided in this country are the liberal snobs in media, academia, politics and entertainment from the vast majority of people that they have deluded themselves into believing that they speak for. The rest of America is laughing at you, Maureen, and the rest of the liberal cognoscenti, when we're not pitying you for being so completely clueless.
So, Maureen, when are you and your ilk heading to France or Canada, to be closer to people who share your misguided policies and preferences? Soon, I hope, but I'm not optimistic. For snobs like you, your haughty feelings of cultural and intellectual superiority are matched only by your staggering hypocrisy.
I'm going to enjoy watching the demise of your vicious left wing ideology and tactics, and I will savor observing you someday being forced to support an Evan Bayh-type candidate in order to merely stay competitive with the GOP in America. (Oh, the humanity!) In the meantime, don't despair. After all, you can still write about how Bush "stole" another election with Diebold machines, or how he doesn't have a mandate notwithstanding the overwhelming Republican majorities in the Senate, House and at the state level.
I really would resent you and your vile tactics, if I didn't feel so sorry for you.
Don't bother to read her or Krugman anymore.
It's a waste of my time. Besides, if I wanted to believe what they write, I would have voted for Castro.
Well, now that you have that off your chest, how 'bout tackling Helen Thomas next time?
Man, that's gonna leave a mark. Nice work.
Though you should have attached a photograph of C Z-J just to rub it in.
Bravo, bravo.
Be nice, ever since Michael Douglas dumped her she really hasn't been the same.
Kerry tried to get elected by dividing the country along fault lines of fear, intolerance, ignorance and anti-religion rule.
That's the only reason that I click on these threads. :=)
How come we don't hear about the treatment Bush got from Kerry, O'Donnell, Rather, McAuliffe, etc.,etc. I could go on forever.
well done!
I also emailed her.
"But with this crowd, it's hard to imagine what would constitute overreaching"
Ms.Dowd - I think we can imagine. Yours is exemplary overreaching.
Even worse....SHE'S THE PUNCHLINE.
I think it would be poiuntless to "tackle" Helen Thomas. She would pop right back up like the Weeble she is.
Yes, but she's a feeble weeble these days.....
There's no point at all in e-mailing people like this. They LIKE it when we pitch a fit; what they can't stand is being ignored.
Damn - she's really off her meds. Someone wiser and more experienced should have cautioned the Dems not too sqeaul so loudly. They give away much in their tantrums.
" How come we don't hear about the treatment Bush got from Kerry, O'Donnell, Rather, McAuliffe, etc.,etc."
I suffered through, I believe it was Ellen Rat-Ner on Fox last night. She again commented on the 'mean spirited, hateful, campagn Bush- ooops, President Bush, waged against sKerry!
I would just love to have ANY liberal schmuck point to ONE single instance of a MEAN SPIRITED comment.
Come on libs. I know a few of you lurk here. Gimme an example!
I agree.
Trading integrity to be a journalistic puppet for her NYT masters is what yellow journalism is all about.....job security and salary are secure.
