I think it was against the law for him to transport a shotgun to New
York City with New York City being the intended final destination of
such shotugn. Furthermore, at the time of his death, said shotgun
was not disassembled and unloaded and locked in the trunk of his
car. Any other configuration and situation would have required he
seek permission to possess such shotgun from the city elders that
said shotgun be registered in New York City.

" NEW YORK CITY--A city permit is required for possession and
transportation of handguns and long guns. New York State handgun
permits are invalid within the city limits; however, New York State
residents may transport their licensed handguns unloaded through the
city if these are locked in a container and the trip is continuous.
Long guns may be kept in the city for only 24 hours while in transit
and must be unloaded and stored in a locked container or vehicle
trunk for the period."

In his dying act, this pathetic individual's felonious violation of
the law helped the forces of good in one unintended way: He proved
once again how ineffective gun control laws are.

The man killed himself at ground zero..he wanted to be talked about.

In part he felt his situation was so terrible, he killed himself for our sympathy. Did he deserve it?

My sympathy lies with real victims, not idiots like him and those who throw themselves in front of bulldozers. They want to make a political statement and enjoy their 15 minits even when they have to die for it. He turned himself into a joke.

What does this say about the Dems? They hate so much, are so intolerant, that they would kill themselves rather than face the possibility that they do not hold power.

"Give me tyranny, or give me death!"

He could have just moved to Paris instead of killing himself, sheesh. At least in Paris, he would be with others who are Anti-American.

Paris or Hell, where's the difference? ;-)

What's more selfish, taking one's own life or expecting someone to stay alive to make you happy?

Good point!

How is it "devastating to all who believe in democracy?"

I guess by "democracy," some people mean "the rule of Democrats."

No doubt the DUers are seizing on the comment in multiple threads as we speak to show how "uncaring" the right is.

Oh, the DUmmies will find ways to call us "uncaring" no matter what we do. No use in trying to appease them.

Well, whether it makes sense or not, liberals hate
Bush worse than we disliked Clinton. They swallowed lies
because they live in Never-never Land, and they don't know
they live there. I just think it isn't an occasion for
joy when a person is led on by the media and the candidate
(Kerry) with lies to the point where they take their own
life. Of course we had reason to dislike Clinton, and they
have fooled themselves into thinking they have all the
Michael Moore reasons to hate President Bush, which are
just lies.

56,158,907 to go

I'm getting too old and too busy to post much humor, here at FR.

I'm thinking about handing the mantle to you. Send me fifty bucks, and the job's yours.

Since when should we care about what DUers say about us.

I think this was a waste of a perfectly good shotgun, and am insulted this useless avatar of meaninglessness defiled Ground Zero with the shredded remains of his corpus.

It's just devastating to those who believe themselves to be intellectually and culturally superior to Republicans who believe in God.

This is just the logical end result of a subculture that treats politics as religion.

Frankly (and sadly), I expect to hear more of this type of story in the near future.
