I'm willing to cut her some slack. It's probably the first time in her life she's ever heard NO.
My father was a lifelong blue collar Democrat til a few years ago. I was always more political than he, and just today I visited and heard him talking to my mother (as I was walking in) about "that JERK Edwards coming out Tuesday night. This IDIOT was going to be vice president?! Thank God I voted for Bush again."
I considered it a personal triumph!
