WHEN THE H*LL WILL WE DEFUND NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO?
KPFK | 11-7-04 | dfu

Posted on 11/07/2004 3:01:13 PM PST by doug from upland

While doing some painting today, I wanted to listen to some talk radio. Unfortunately, Sunday is not a good day for talk radio. The only thing I found on was . . . . . KPFK -- public radio.

I listened to "Counterspin" and "Spotlight Africa." I was in the vomitorium.

I hadn't listened for awhile. These people are nuts. I wanted to throw my radio.

The anti-American and anti-conservative and anti-Bush crap that they are putting out on the air is overwhelming and sickening. Because I believe in free speech, I don't advocate that we shut them up. But I don't want to pay for it. Let them compete in the arena of ideas as we do.

One show was attacking our election. Of course, we cheated. Both Americans and foreigners are claiming that. One foreign "expert" said that our election would not even pass the test in Africa. Who in the hell do they think they are to tell us about how to run an election. For well over 200 years, we have had peaceful elections.

Our war is racism. Blah blah blah. With Bush in charge, it is like they are on the plantation again. Blah blah blah. It was another stolen election. Blah blah blah.

A caller from San Bernardino said that the African nations should withhold their oil from us. He wants demonstrations in the street and strikes. He does not want to accept this election.

When they are finished in Fallujah, I want the Marines to prepare a siege on KPFK. I don't want to pay for this any longer!

"...only 10% of their $100mil budget is public money...."

Good, then they can do without it.

El Rushbo should buy NPR. When asked why he did... Rush's response would be, "Because I can. It's called capitalism."

Balance comes from the marketplace or not at all.

In my wildest dreams we will defund them, God that would be nice.

I agree, but until NPR is defanged perhaps we can intrude a shade and demand balance . . . or else.

I certainly don't know what to do. NPR should have been cut loose decades ago. The philosophy that they should get public money to foment subversive collaboration with an enemy in peacetime OR wartime is lunacy. Allowing callers to instigate insurrection and sabotage is intolerable. One never hears about all the good things accomplished at home and abroad by Americans, it is simply anti-American bias.

You would think that controlling the entire government, pubbies could take NPR (National Pervert Radio) off the dole. However they can't even fire the administrative Rat traitors in government.

"BTW, did David Drier win reelection over the pouts and rants of John & Ken?"

Come again? John & Ken used to be on here in Columbus, I always enjoyed their silliness and never once heard them talk about politics.

How about we let that money bleeding AIR AMERICA take over NPR and PBS since they all seem to be pushing the same liberal agenda along with partially funding the BBC (which is UK financed by its people).

Besides AIR AMERICA's are funnier and crazier liberal lunatics than those stuff-shirt washed-up academiats that fill NPR airwaves....

TERRY GROSS?......indeed...blah...

NPR will be defanged when it is defunded. Right now, it answers to nobody except the people who run it.

John & Ken host a radio show M-F on KFI AM - 640.
They've become very active politically.
They campaigned for Arnold,
but targeted Dreier for CA's immigration
problems with the illegals... like a democrat
would be better!

I am delighted to learn they failed.
Dreier WON reelection.

Well said.

Let them compete in the arena of ideas as we do.

Well if their ideas had to compete, they'd obviously lose and they'd have to come up with new ideas. I would just as soon have them stick with their losers - heh heh

Keillor lost me when he made a very crude "joke" about a woman's abortion.

The music is always really good but I think his whole mid-America shtick is condescending and patronizing. Urban types go here him and say "Oh, wasn't that SPECIAL? We heard some Americun music."

Those dumb radio skits are do stupid, I really wonder who some donk from some writing program actually gets paid to write that crap.

Pull the plug on NPR. You can get 24-hr commerical free classical and jazz radio (2-3 channels each) at either Sirius Radio or XM Radio (both sattelite). Plus conservative talk channels.

I agree...This is the perfect issue for us to work on. We need to get some petitions going and find out who pulls the strings when it comes to funding these propaganda networks. Start blasting them with emails and faxes.

It is hard to know just how much tax money finds its way to NPR or PBS. Much of it, I suspect, is through the back door.

There needs to be a grass roots effort to get people and businesses to know how bad NPR is, and to not donate.

I was a donor, but have not given in over 10 years. NPR could be a fine service, but first they have to clean house and throw out the rats.

In order for our election to pass the test in Africa, we'd have to kill most of the opposing party and put our troops at the polls to ensure the victory. After the election, we'd kill and take the land of anyone who opposed the winner. Then we'd pass the test.

KPFK = Pacifica Radio

Pacifica Radio makes your typical NPR station sound like a Chrsitian outlet.

I wish I could get a transcript of the two programs I heard. I called it what it was --- a Vomitorium.
