Fondue was elegant and delicious. I have a Fuyu Persimmon tree with fruit on it, and we dipped firm chunks in the fondue. SUCH a treat! Also dipped little prawns, avocado chunks and sour dough bread. Oh, and we washed it down with champaign.
I'm so jealous! I love fuya persimmons. My Grandma had a tree in her yard, and a pomegranite. The persimmons I can buy here are like green tomatoes. You can't even let them mellow on the window sill.
I have a great recipe for steamed persimmon pudding (sort of like plum pudding) that calls for dates and walnuts. I'll find it and send it to you before Christmas. It's really rich, but so yummy.
