When I was in the Armor Officer's Advanced Course in '93 I was gratified to see that dismounted enemy troops were still referred to either as "crunchies" because as you run them over with the M1A1 the gear they're wearing or carrying makes a distinct "crunching" sound OR as "squishies" because insurgents run over (not wearing helmets and carrying a lot of gear) tend to squish out behind the tank in spectacular fashion. Hence you get commands from commander to driver over the CVC mikes like this:
Driver! Track left. Dismounted SQUISHIES in the open!

We just called 'em "Road Kill" --- sorta reminded us of hitting amadillos back home in Texas.

United States General George Patton European commander said in 1944, "the enemy's guts will be grease for my tanks." I like his attitude. General 'Black Jack' Pershing's attitude was even better in the early 1900s in the Philipines fighting Islamic insurgents. Do a Google for details. Pershing was one tough SOB.
