Noting the influence Specter could carry during the judicial confirmation process, the FRC president says the Pennsylvania senator "would also determine the makeup of the [SJC] staff, which would go a long way toward determining the committee's political and judicial philosophy."

I like Ronald Reagan's position to abortion. Okay in first trimester. I think that is a good compromise. Doctors should go to jail for partial birth abortion murder.

Loyalty to Bush? My question is whether he's loyal to the Constition. The liberal justices who've been appointed to the Supreme Court have greatly undermined the Constitution, rewriting it regularly by judicial fiat to reflect their own personal views.

Apply the same treatment to Specter that he applied to Robert Bork. "Bork" him. Then apologize like he apologized to Anita Hill.

My problem with Specter is his attitude that the Supreme Court should change its views as the people change their views; that's judicial activism. His opposition to Bork disqualified him years ago. Somebody should ask him now if he would support Clarence Thomas as Chief Justice. Is he really backing off or is he just saying he will.

Get Involved!

Priority 1: Remove Specter from Judiciary (Day 6)

Urgent!  Committee Assignments are being made THIS WEEK!  There are spots on the Judiciary Committee to be assigned.  Tell Sen. Frist and Sen Kyl we need Conservative members on the Judiciary and NO Arlen Specter!

Specter's in line for Chairman, but it can be Challenged!  It has happened in the past.  Moderate Lugar challenged the Great Jesse Helms for Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  A Challenger will have to come forward with the GOP members of the Judicial Committee meet on November 17th!  We need to find a member with the Courage to Challenge.

Catechism of the Catholic Church and what it says about those who support abortion

What does this say about Senator Specter?

I recall that during the primary fight, word was that President Bush cut a deal with Spectre - Bush would support him (versus Toomey) and Spectre would step down from the Judiciary committee. Guess that isn't coming to pass. I wouldn't trust Arlen Spectre any further than I can throw him. Bush should have supported Toomey.

This is so typical of the RINOs...love the President when you are in a heated campaign, love him for raising money for you, for drawing supporters to you...then trash him once you are re-elected. Susan Collins did the same thing. Pathetic.
