Let's see what I can make of this: the author is proudly proclaiming that he and all his ilk are overeducated, overfed, overpaid, oversexed, drunken, effete cowards whose sole purpose in life is to "take care of" we less fortunate and intelligent creatures. O, how the old gods on Olympus must envy these people!
They may get all the "best" in life, but when they're dead, they're dead. They have no peace because they have no God other than themselves. All the money on Earth won't buy peace of mind or one more breath of life. Youth and beauty fade, money runs out, health declines. Man's resources and wisdom dwindle and fail. Let them rave on. Eventually their own bile and hatred will choke them to death.
