First Hand Account of Specter's Two-Facedness (He Trashes Reagan Too)

First Hand account of Specter’s Two-Facedness

Journalist Joel Mowbray has been working the Specter story as well. He emails us:

Douglas Urbanski is a former Broadway producer, who is now a top-flight Hollywood manager and producer. He met Arlen Specter at a small gathering in early 1996, when Specter was running for President. This is what Urbanski recently wrote about his close encounter of the liberal kind back in 1996:

“Arlen Specter personally told me that the number one thing he regretted was his questioning of Anita Hill and his vigorous support of Clarence Thomas. Let me repeat: Specter made it clear that he did not think much of Thomas, and, in our chat Specter did his best to distance himself from these events. For what it is worth, Specter also elaborated that he thought President Reagan was too fanatically Conservative and regretted much of his support for President Reagan.

This exchange took place when Specter was seeking the Republican nomination for President. He had breakfast with and addressed a very small group of us who belong to something called THE WEDNESDAY MORNING CLUB, here in Los Angeles. This is a Conservative leaning group of mostly entertainment industry professionals started by David Horowitz. I sit on the “steering Committee.” I remember the breakfast clearly. It took place at a small hotel on the edge of Bel Air and we were a small group.

After Specter’s address, there was q&a, then we milled about making chit chat with the Senator. He asked me for my business card which I gave him. A day or so later someone from his group called me asking me for money and I told them how appalled I was by the Senator’s remarks, in particular his comments to me about Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas. I also let the chap know that I thought his comments about President Reagan were terrible. I jokingly asked if Specter had any idea of what group he was actually addressing. It was as if his advisors had told him he would be addressing a liberal leaning conservative group from Hollywood and to tailor his comments thusly. From all that he has said and done since then, it now appears as if we got the real Specter.

I have never forgotten these comments. And of course strongly feel that Mr. Specter is completely unfit for the top job on the judiciary committee.”

–Douglas Urbanski

Specter takes money from Soros; campaigns with yardsigns "Kerry/Specter"; takes $$$ from trial lawyers; borks Bork; trashes Reagan and lies like a rug.

Just exactly who we need to head the judiciary committee (if you're a democrat that is).

Only Democrats and the pro-abort pubbies are supporting Specter.

We don't need to squander the mandate on RINOs like Specter.

While the guy makes me sick...I don't think the White House or the GOP will dump him for someone else.

Specter has been around to know where bodies are buried. He has been using those markers ever since he was one of the lawyers of the Warren Commission.

It's been obvious to me for years that Specter regreted what he did at the Clarence Thomas hearings.

He THOUGHT he was winning points with the liberals by going all out in support of a black man for high office. What he didn't realize at the time was that the feminist card trumped the race card. He went too far to back down without looking like a fool, so he was stuck with it.

Helping to confirm Clarence Thomas was the only good thing he ever did, but he did it only because he miscalculated what would advance his career. If he had it to do over again, he most certainly would have sided with Anita Hill.

That sorry piece of $h@t jabroni is criticizing and bad mouthing my president, Ronald Reagan? Who the hell does he think he is? Reagan had more class in his pinky than Specter does in his whole body and career.

Today on Hannity, snarlin Arlin said Justice Thomas was only "satisfactory" in his performance.

No Specter, none of the time.

I have posted many, many times in the last 4-5 days about Sen. Specter.. I have e-mailed and called several Senators.

So I was already convinced that Senator Specter was unfit for Chairmanship.

However, after hearing him and then Judge Bork on Hannity's radio show today, I don't see how any conservative senator or citizen would back him. Bork mentioned that he voted against tort reform and for the military coming under "international court". Totally unacceptable.

Then, the kicker was just now, when I heard Alan Colmes speaking up for Specter and defending him. Case Closed.

Repotedly Arlen Specter came into a SJC meeting with a sizeable portion of a roll of toilet paper trailing behind his tailored suit. Specter hates Bush, Reagan and all conservatives. I wouldn't vote for a pro-abort POTUS, why should a pro-abort senator be head of the SJC?

I am a die hard Reaganite and I don't appreciate this trash bag bottom feeding hoe bag of a Senator. He is to us what Zell Miller is to the Dimwits. However, Zell is on the right side of the fence.

Joel Mowbray seems like one of the good guys. When he claims Specter said these things about his past support for Thomas and Reagan, it's hard not to believe it.
