Any law that affects voter's [sic] rights must be approved by the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice to ensure it conforms to the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Certainly, it's a stretch to say this affects voters' rights.

It won't stop em from trying though. You may not be able to cash a check, drive a car, buy cigarettes or alcohol, get on an airplane, or go through virtually any federal government building's security checkpoint these days without a photo ID, but heaven forbid we tell somebody they have to show one to cast a vote! If one were to believe the Mary Frances Berry's and Jesse Jacksons of the world there must be tens of millions of blacks and mexicans in the United States who don't have any photo IDs and thus cannot do any of the perfectly common and routine aforementioned things. Of course we all know the real motive behind that argument: they want illegal alien lawbreakers to vote just like the want felons to vote because they know illegal alien lawbreakers and felons will favor Democrats.

Seriously, for a party that supposedly prides itself on "intellectual" candidates like John Kerry, the Democrats sure do have a way of attracting votes from the dumbest of the dumb (i.e. people who cannot even find a photo ID), the trashiest of the trash (i.e. the covetted prison vote), and flagrant abusers of the laws of this country (i.e. illegal aliens).

Actually, it does. Perhaps not in the way you're thinking, but it affects my rights - and, more importantly, my vote - tremendously.

If we allow illegals to vote, then they are negating your vote. Your vote becomes invalid, regardless of how you vote. If we let illegals vote, then there is no longer a reason to become a citizen. Isn't your birthright from the Founding Fathers a little more precious than that?
