Suha's dramatic appeal is seen as an attempt to settle accounts with all those who turned her life into hell over the past decade. By accusing Qurei and Abbas of seeking to bury her husband while he's alive, she in fact fired the first shot in the battle for succession. "I think Suha deliberately chose the time when the Palestinian public is awake to make her last resort cry," says Zakariya al Qaq, a political analyst. "She wanted to ensure that the Palestinian public is rallying behind her against the political leadership in Ramallah." Suha's remarks are seen as an appeal to the Palestinians to revolt against the interim leadership and corrupt officials. What adds weight to her allegations is the fact that she is supported by the PLO's hard-line foreign minister Farouk Kaddoumi, who sees himself as the natural successor to Arafat, and many disgruntled Fatah activists ad gunmen in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Imus called her Suha Heinz Kerry today..
I think it fits.
Methinks there is something rotten in Paris..........Arafat!......
Some wag should make "Weekend at Bernie's III" to chronicle Arafta's post-mortem adventures. I can see his keffiyeh-draped head being dragged through Gaza already. They should get Christina Applegate, that saggy-faced scank to play Suha.
I think Hillary Clinton should fly over to Paris and give Suha Arafat another big kiss. Two witches in love with one another!!!
Does this make her the Yoko Ono of the PLO?
Yoko's in her 70's; I don't know if Suha will last that long, but she's about as loved among Arafat's people as Yoko was by the other Beatles and their fans.
