Keep those calls coming!
Make sure you call Rick Santorum's DC office (202-224-6324) since he seems to think he is too good to listen to grassroots conservatives.
The Specter spectacle continues
Aides to a couple of Republican senators tell ABCNews' Linda Douglass that the calls from conservativeswho do not want Senator Arlen Specter to becomechairman of the Judiciary Committee are coming in at arate of 2 to 3 a minute.
Douglass reports that the protest calls appear to beaimed primarily at leadership offices and members ofthe Judiciary Committee. An aide to Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) says the callsare as intense as the anti-gay marriage calls thatcame in during that debate. All eyes (or most, anyway) remain on Frist andSantorum.
Roll Call:
"As one GOP aide put it, Specter's ascension to the chairmanship appears a done deal "if Santorum seems OK with it."
Please call Santorum and let him know how you feel...
Altoona (814) 946-7023
Erie (814) 454-7114
Harrisburg (717) 231-7540
Lehigh Valley (610) 770-0142
Northern Tier 81 814-274-9773
Philadelphia (215) 864-6900
Pittsburgh (412) 562-0533
Scranton (570) 344-8799
I'd bet Frist doesn't have the backbone to circumvent Specter's appointment.
Did my part---called DeWine's office yesterday.
Frist and Santorum's DC phone numbers are busy!!!
Frist is yet to show any guts ... on anything.
Frist is yet to show any guts ... on anything.
It's a shame this is turning into a witch-hunt.
I don't know if it happened or not, but I heard last night (I think on the Hugh Hewitt show) that Rick Santorum was going to have a press conference today and he is going to come to Specter's aide. Santorum is so passionately conservative, that it makes me suspicious that he will back up Specter again after Specter basically showed up he and President Bush for backing his primary campaign.
Why would Santorum back down? I hate politics!!!!
Athough I don't live in the great state of ______, I am a Connecticut resident, I am calling to strongly urge Senator________ not to vote for Sen. Arlen Specter as the next Chairman of the Judiciary Committee.
Sen. Specter's recent words have disqualified him from that position.
And considering the election outcome last week, Republicans need not take a step back but put a new foot forward.
I stongly urge Senator________ to consider Sens. Grassely or Kyl for Committee Chairman, and cement the conservative political capital which the President harvested last Tuesday.
Judiciary Committee's Number is 202-224-5225 to voice your opinion.
What witch hunt? The American People have spoken for the President's policies and are particulary interested in a sane Jusiciary. Specter has been duplicitous at best and back-stabbing in general. The People don't trust him, but this is the only leverage they can put to bear onwhat they see as a problem.
The Republican Party and other Conservatives did not turn out last Tuesday to listen to Spector warn Pres Bush, i.e. us, and then watch him spend the w/e waffling. He's done messed in his nest.
All the mail boxes seem to be full, anything I can do?
BTTT
If politicans that support abortion, and even voters who support them, could be in a state of sin, and need confession before they recieve Holy Communion... Isn't Senator Santorum in the same position? He strongly helped Sen. Specter get reelected, over pro-life Pat Toomey, who probably wouldn't have won without intereference. Sen. Santorum didn't have a problem with this being used against Sen. Kerry, shouldn't he look at the mote in his own eye now?
