What basis/proof do you have for saying Catholics are not Christians anyways?

From the Wikipedia bio:
Some criticize her for not being in touch with the average Palestinian. One policeman who accompanied Mrs Arafat on a visit to Gaza's poor said: "While Arafat sits on the floor with ordinary people, holds their hands and kisses them, Suha did everything she could to avoid touching them. I once saw Arafat kiss a wounded man's groin, but Suha sits as far away as possible. You get the feeling that if she were to move even an inch closer, she would become ill."

Ok, whatever you say. I've read history too. But, I am Catholic, I believe in Jesus Christ, that He is my Savior, He died for all of us. So, how does that not make me Christian? I think there is a general ignorance on here about Catholicism anyways. Interpret history the way you want. I'm not saying the Church was always perfect, but Protestants have not been either. I understand what you're getting at, the selling of indulgences, offices, etc. However, I hope you know that Protestants slaughtered a few people themselves too during this time period. I'll go dig out my books if you'd like.

Surely this is not a new critique to you regarding Catholicism. But even you must admit, that not *every* group that professes they follow Christ really is the real deal. Should we state that its OK for Episcopalian Homosexual Priests to state they are Christian, while we remain silent on the matter? What about Mormons and polygamy? Jehovahs Witnesses, who chastise and ridicule their members who leave their ranks? What about the charismatics who handle snakes in their services and dance around (while getting bitten)?

The phrase "Not everyone who cries Lord Lord will enter Heaven.."

What's this? Catholicism is not Christian? Thanks for lumping me in with the Islamists as non-Christian. That sure surprises me. I've been praying to Jesus, my Lord and Savior, my entire life. Gosh, I thought I was a Christian all these years.

No, it is not. I was arguing the idea that Catholics were not Christians period. Kind of a sweeping statement to make of all Catholics, is it not? I understand your points, however, then tell me what denomination, sect, or form of Christianity is absolutely perfect? You pointed that out yourself. Don't they all have their impurities/imperfections/sinfulness? Institutions run by man are not going to be infallible because man is not perfect and full of sin and ugliness. After all, isn't that what Christ died for, all of our sins? And no, we don't have to sit idly by when stuff we disagree with goes on. We can leave, find another worshipping place to our liking, and so on.

Of course no denomination is perfect, or for that matter non-denomination, or trans-denomination. But when the hierarchy of a church organization goes outside and beyond the Bible to justify their belief system which are contrary to what Jesus taught (homosexual marriage, abortion)..well, Im sure you know the rest.

Just out of curiosity, if the (infalliable) Pope came forth and gave homosexual marriage his blessing, would you still be Catholic?

I think the fact that she;s Arafat's wife is pretty positive proof that the answer is no.

So did Yasser when he could.

If Suha gets all of that money, and prefers France ... then if anything ever happens to Terezza, we'll know where to look for J F'n Kerry.

I don't know. Suha may have been willing to marry one of the slimiest thugs in history but she might have "some" standards.
