Wish I'd written it.
The Red States "reject tolerance." Therefore, the Blue States will secede...
Admitting the true scope and nature of your problem is the first, essential step to overcoming said problem. :)
Blue states my butt.
Red states with blue cities sucking our lifeblood like leeches.
ON the question of the IQs of those in the Red States, I guess the question that comes to my mind is "Why would all those people with high IQs in the Blue States vote for the candidate with the lower IQ?"
When it was estimated that Bush had a higher IQ than did Kerry, the Blues were shocked. Maybe it takes one to know one.
Personally, I think I've "tolerated" enough of their (Canada & Blue state) crap.
My .02....
"Tolerance" of wrong is not tolerance at all, it is enabling sin and injustice.
I live in Washington state.
By the way its looking like we may have our first Republican Governor in 20 years.
Votes still being counted.
And I'm pleased to say, a fellow Long Islander.
Funny that they think Christians are so evil. And at Freerepublic we have Christians, agnostics, atheists, Jewish people, Catholics, Baptists, people who live by the Bible, people who don't own a Bible, people who go to church all the time, people who never do.... I have met a lot of Freepers and I was surprised at the diversity here. I found the same thing while working in the Republican party during the election. We are as diverse a group as they come. The BLUES just don't get it. Never have, never will. Personally, I don't mind if any Christian wishes to pray for me. I am also a Christian. All prayers are welcome. I don't find them threatening.
The Blue states may have a problem seceding since if you look at NY, only NYC went blue, the rest of the state is Red. And same with Calif. and Penn., take away the major urban areas and those states are also Red.
You may have hit the nail with your last comment.
Since the Democrats are in the minority across the board, they will be LESS able to bring back the pork for various city projects without republican approval.
IOW in the blue cities, no pork (free stuff) no votes.
Pro-voter fraud?
Mr Gallaghers fixation on "gay rights" sounds to me like maybe hes too close to the subject.
Thomas Jefferson shared your views on this, to wit:
"The mobs of the great cities add just so much to the support of pure government as sores do to the strength of the human body. It is the manners and spirit of a people which preserve a republic in vigor. A degeneracy in these is a canker which soon eats to the heart of its laws and constitution." --Thomas Jefferson: Notes on Virginia Q.XIX, 1782. ME 2:230
I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get piled upon one another in large cities as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1787. Papers 12:442
"I view great cities as pestilential to the morals, the health and the liberties of man. True, they nourish some of the elegant arts; but the useful ones can thrive elsewhere; and less perfection in the others, with more health, virtue and freedom, would be my choice." --Thomas Jefferson to Benjamin Rush, 1800. ME 10:173
"Our cities... exhibit specimens of London only; our country is a different nation." --Thomas Jefferson to Andre de Daschkoff, 1809. ME 12:304
"Everyone, by his property or by his satisfactory situation, is interested in the support of law and order. And such men may safely and advantageously reserve to themselves a wholesome control over their public affairs and a degree of freedom which, in the hands of the canaille of the cities of Europe, would be instantly perverted to the demolition and destruction of everything public and private." --Thomas Jefferson to John Adams, 1813. ME 13:401
"An insurrection... of science, talents, and courage, against rank and birth... has failed in its first effort, because the mobs of the cities, the instrument used for its accomplishment, debased by ignorance, poverty, and vice, could not be restrained to rational action. But the world will recover from the panic of this first catastrophe." --Thomas Jefferson to John Adams, 1813. ME 13:402
"I fear nothing for our liberty from the assaults of force; but I have seen and felt much, and fear more from English books, English prejudices, English manners, and the apes, the dupes, and designs among our professional crafts. When I look around me for security against these seductions, I find it in the wide spread of our agricultural citizens, in their unsophisticated minds, their independence and their power, if called on, to crush the Humists of our cities, and to maintain the principles which severed us from England." --Thomas Jefferson to Horatio G. Spafford, 1814. ME 14:120
Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Bush's PV margin of victory came from NYS' 2,800,000 supporting votes. The same number, 2,800,000, Texans voted for Kerry. This Blue State - Red State stuff is childish, inaccurate and divisive...exactly what some elements on both the right and the left want. We should bury it.
sKerry only won two groups....high school dropouts and those with post graduate degrees, go figure
To tolerate evil makes one just as guilty as the doer of evil. It is evil to tolerate evil.
I have read about that supposed "IQ" test. It measures intelligence in terms of school spending per pupil and other such liberal nonsense. That so-called study belongs on the dumper with the Lovenstein Institute.
Deo Vindice!
I love the way the Libs try to beat us up with this "intolerance" thing. They just don't get hate the sin, but love the sinner.
