Verizon DSL sucks, I just got it, Verizon blocks ALL PORTS! Even Port 80! Can you believe an ISP would block/filter port 80? I have to keep my dialup connection so I can use port 80.

This male bashing thing has been going on for quite a while, meanwhile the girls wonder why so few men are interested in a relationship longer then a few or two.

If you have already checked this, I apologize, not trying to insult your intelligance.

But I have relatives using Verizon DSL and I don't remember all those ports being blocked... do you have a router in between your computer and dsl modem? Or possibly your dsl modem has a built in router or firewall? I have seen several newer DSL modems with both features.

If that is the case you need to configure your router / modem to either turn on port forwarding or (if it's a firewall problem) unblock the port you want to use.

I also just checked a number of online reviews of verizon and none mentioned blocking ports... Any you could always try a differant port like 8080?
