They have a point, even though I hate to join a 'victims' drumbeat. There's also a commercial for the "IN" Network..I think that's Verizon too. The father comes home and gives his daughters cell phones and tells them they can all call each other now...the kids look at him like he's an idiot and then the mother tells them they can call their friends too and they jump up and hug the mother and then they all leave the room with the father standing there like a pathetic boob waiting to be hugged.

My problem is that this spot goes out of its way to make the father look like an idiot and an unnecessary part of the family. There's enough of that kind of thinking out there already...it doesn't need to be reinforced by Madison Ave.

I couldn't agree more. I've seen that obnoxious commercial and felt the same. Dad is always the dope, the buffoon, the one who needs to be instructed, usually by a woman or child.

They don't think he's an idiot-- just someone the daughters would have no interest in talking to for various reasons.

That one really bothers me. And I won't buy Progresso soup because of the know-it-all women and childish men in their ads.

I HATE THAT COMERCIAL!!

It just makes me and my girls mad. I feel sorry for the poor dad and, what selfish stuck up girls. I want to SMACK them.

My girls say, "Who's paying for the cell phones!?"
