Perhaps, but I am so tainted by his politics that I feel he is trying to inculcate the audience than entertain.
The Kennedy movie was a farce.

Actually, Stone is proof that technical skill does not equate to great film-making.
Stone knows all the tricks in the books, and he uses them all. But they tend to be overdone and distract from the storyline.
I think it is very telling that Quentin Tarantino wanted his name removed from Natural Born Killers because he felt so strongly that Stone had mangled the script.
