By definition, a Senator is required to be a legal resident of the State he represents.
The fact that he must live in the Greater Washington, DC area to represent Pennsylvania does not change his legal status as a Pennsylvania resident.
For an analogous situation, Armed Forces members may be stationed in one state but can still be legal residents of their home state.
If it's true, it's strange. I didn't even know Santorum, a Senator representing PA, lived in Virginia.
Imagine the grief a good man like Alan Keyes would get from FReepers over something like this.
Edwards is still a Senator from NC. and lives in DC.
Many Senators live in the Washington Metropolitan area. Includes Maryland and Virginia.
In Maryland, you have Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Potomac, etc. In Virginia you have McClean, Alexandria, Old Town, Arlington, etc.
