Where did the 100,000 number come from? That is unheard of.

He has 6 kids - each probably somewhere between 8-10K per year, for 2 years. You do the math.

There are six kids. The article says since 2001-02 school year. That is three and a half years. Divide by 6 kids, then by 3.5 years.

It comes to less than $4800 per/kid per/year. That is on the low end of public school costs.

I think he's got about five kids. The article quotes money spent from 2001-2002. So two years, five kids. About $10k/kid/year. You get the idea.

"Where did the 100,000 number come from?"

My husband asked the same thing, then decided that it probably costs the state of PA something like $ 250,000 to develop this and put this stuff up on the internet, therefore, since Santorum's kids and six other kids someplace are using it, Santorum must be sucking up $ 100,000 worth of services (charged to the local Penn Hills school district.) Sounds like PA to me.
