PARIS, Nov. 15 - France, Britain and Germany announced today that they had reached a formal agreement with Iran that commits the country to suspend production of enriched uranium that can be used to make nuclear bombs in exchange for an array of possible rewards.
Under the complex but limited agreement, Iran agreed to stop all uranium enrichment activities while it negotiates with the three European countries and the European Union over the possible benefits it might receive.
The agreement is a diplomatic victory for both the Europeans and the Iranians, although both sides had to make hard concessions and it is not nearly as far-reaching as the Europeans had sought.
The Europeans were deeply embarrassed after Iran violated the terms of a less-precise agreement that both sides reached in Tehran 13 months ago.

They never learn.
I'll agree to stop enriching my uranium if I too can cash in on these "benefits!" =P
The deal will be finalized when the 1200-lb
gorilla casts its vote...w/ cruise missiles and
SGBs.

Curious that none of the benefits are detailed in the article.
Bribes from Euro state coffers, 20 % kickback to Euro state leaders and political parties. Old Europe SOP
the reason that the agreement took so long to conclude is because the iranians needed to disassemble their current facilities and relocate them in a different unknown location.
The leaders will get off the plane from Tehran waving this new "peace in our time" agreement. Unfortunately, AMerican blood will be shed once again in the not distant future to rectify this blatant act of appeasment.
Such benefits should include: Bier, Wine, and Ale.
That would loosen them up a bit!
I can see Neville Chamberlain holding up his sign that says "Peace in Our Time." Israel is left looking at the clock.
Under the complex but limited agreement, Iran agreed to stop all uranium enrichment activities while it negotiates with the three European countries and the European Union over the possible benefits it might receive.
So that comes to... what... three months of unverifable "suspension" of activity? This is progress?
The agreement is a diplomatic (read: "EMPTY") victory for both the Europeans and the Iranians, although both sides had to make hard concessions and it is not nearly as far-reaching as the Europeans had sought.
Paging Mr Chamberlain...
Mr Neville Chamberlain, please pick up the Iranian courtesy phone...
Determined to do better this time, the Europeans insisted that Iran accept the agreement as negotiated and rejected Iran's attempts to modify it.
Somehow, I don't find Iran's current promises anymore convincing than those made 13 months ago.
If it's real, chalk it up to the red states.
Ah yes, but the process of obtaining an agreement was completed which is, after all, more important than any actual positive result. Watch for this process-getting to be waved around by UN'ers during some future US-Iranian crisis as an example of how it "should be done."
you have a point. we should simply say that their process is not ISO compliant and do what is in the best interest of america.
