Actually, the Classical Greeks considered insertive anal intercourse an abomination. While they may have been less discouraging with other practices such as homosexual fellatio, they were adamantly against insertive anal intercourse between men.

It's been argued that what's interpreted as homosexual relationships would simply be very strong friendships. Either way, men were expected to marry women and father children. In Sparta, citizens had a duty to wed and have children.
