Thanks for that link. How cool that the older grandkids get to do sleepover's like that. They are very young, but will be 13, 10 and 8 when their grandparents leave office. So perhaps they will remember these special times.

In case no one gets around to answering you: Our American style of football is played at grade school, high school, college and professional levels. At each level, teams from different regions or organizations are organized into leagues. Some games are played on the home fields of rival teams in the league, and some are played on your own home team's field.

At the high school and college levels, primarily, the first home game of each new football season is called "homecoming." Various activities, rallies, and parties are organized around the homecoming event. Most schools pick a homecoming "king and queen" every year -- typically the most popular and/or attractive young people in one of the upper classes. They "preside" over the big homecoming dance. Hope this helps.

I see you got a very good description of what a homecoming queen is. As the poster said, the Queen is normally the most beautiful girl and the King is best looking or most popular boy usually he is a footplayer.

I see someone answered your questions about homecoming queen and king.

Did you need more information?

I think I read somewhere that Barbara Bush (W's daughter) was homecoming queen at her high school in her senior year.

I hadn't heard that, but it wouldn't surprise me.

That girl is so graceful and elegant.

I can see why. She's a gorgeous young woman. Jenna is very pretty in an all-American-girl sort of way. And she clearly is more outgoing than her sister. But Barbara has an air of mystery and her looks are truly striking.
