One of the best web sites to expose liberal media bias is MRC. Sorry to hear about this loss.

That's right.

I knew Reed 20 yrs ago when I was on the exec cmte of NCPAC (Natl Conservative PAC), Brent Bozell's former organization.

Reed was a guru to all of us back then, and his legacy will live on...God bless you, Mr. Irvine.

There's an article at World Newt Daily, too.

He was a great voice for honesty. His legacy lives on in blogs like this one. He was truly ahead of his time.

Right-o. His production of a rebuttle to the 13-hour PBS series on Vietnam is one of the best conservative documentaries ever. It was a well done two-hours and narated by Charlton Heston.

Back before the internet, the AIM newsletter was very important to the conservative cause.

All that and he was a nice man too.

The trailblazer - another Paul Revere in our century.
John O'Neill in the same class of heroes.

I met him at Fort Marcy Park with during an afternoon talk about the death of Vince. He was a very nice person.

Excellent point. I too followed the AIM newsletter before I discovered FreeRepublic.

Reed Irvine - Marine Corps intelligence officer in WW II.

Reporting to heaven, sir, I've done my time in hell.

Semper Fi. Job well done.

I remember when he challenged Rush Limbaughs claims of accuracy, he was not treated well by those on this forum. I liked him because he actually believed in trying to be even handed, not a kool-aid drinker for a party. The man gored everybodys favorite ox.

Reed was the founding father of the examination of the liberal bias in the press and its effects on the political dialogue. He opened my eyes, way back in 1982 or so, and he will be missed.

Thank you, Reed!
