BERLIN (Reuters) - Germans find smelly co-workers to be the most annoying aspect of their jobs, according to a survey by the German business magazine Junge Karriere.
The survey found 38 percent of German office workers were "most bothered" by the smells of their colleagues, 15 percent said they were annoyed by co-workers socialising too much, and 14 percent by untidy desks.
The poll of 354 participants found 26 percent were content with their jobs and have nothing at all to complain about.
Based on the economy and unemployment rates, I was't aware there were any working Germans left.
Are they talking too much perfume or too little deodorant?
I guess they fail to notice the arrogance of their co-workers?
Their co-workers are French?
After being stationed there for 7 Months, I'd say it is the latter........
The problem is every German worker has the exact same complaint.
Insert French jokes here.
beat me by 7 seconds.
A German I know has been with Mercedes for 25 years and is expecting his layoff notice any day now.
IN my experience over there, it is a lack of deodorant the bother my nose.
Now, the question still remains, is that what is bothering the Germans?
With 13% unemployment in Germany, I can't see co-workers being much of a concern there.
Do they shave their legs yet? (The women, I mean)
Something fishy about this...
Depends if their co-workers are French.
The Germans have French coworkers?

NEVER...EVER...APOLOGIZE for slamming the Frogs. They brought this "OPEN SEASON" on themselves.
In Europe they simply don't bathe. They take pride in this - they say it's natural like European women not shaving legs or underarms. My parents are from Cuba and my mom told me sometimes they showered 2 or 3 times (before Castro) because to be clean was important socially. When my grandmother went to live in Spain (during Franco's time) she found the Spaniards to be real smelly. She said the foot odor was unbearable and that most of the Spaniards only bathed once a week - On Saturday to go to church on Sunday.
We also had these exchange students from France in class one semester - man did they stink of sweat. Under arm deodorant was a four letter word. I heard that they believe in celebrating the natural odors of the body. Give me some soap and water anytime!
"Are they talking too much perfume or too little deodorant?"
Bath. Lack of bath, to be exact.
The men probably shave their lags. Lotsa effeminate metrosexuals in Germany. The women are hot though.
Oh darn, I'm way too late for my French jokes.
The women are cold fish in Germany who are into some weird things - although there are some cute girls - like farm girls or milk maids.
It's the French that they are smelling.
Hmm I wonder what the Germans final solution to this smelly co-worker problem is?
I prefer Italian girls, but saw lotsa hotties in Bonn & Munich. Cold fish, perhaps. Eye candy, for sure.
Germany has been described as the land where streets are scrubbed more often than people.
I lived there for almost 8 years so I can attest that this is true.
thag
Then they should tell their French co-workers to go back across the border.
Title should read:
"Smelly Germans annoying to most Americans."
OK, I can add to this...my smell peeve is stinky cab drivers. In July. With no a/c and the windows rolled up.
Can someone PLEASE explain to me how it is possible to sweat and smell so much when your just driving a car around?!!?!?!? Is using a little soap and water before you work with the public to much to ask?
Smelly co-workers were found to be most-annoyed by Germans.
Our high school had a German exchange student, and he stunk as bad as anyone I had ever had the displeasure of smelling. Yeah, just what we wanted, a 17-year-old male who didn't shower. He was, at first, politely informed that Americans showered daily, but he didn't take the hint. Later, people simply refused to sit near him or, if they did, they turned their heads the other way when inhaling.
I have often heard that the Germans and Russians in WW2 could have inflicted a whole lot more casualties if they had simply lifted their arms and then turned on a large fan to blow in the enemy's direction. Before my high school experience I doubted this; afterwards it actually sounded plausible.
"Something fishy about this..."
They must all be Pisces, probably working for scale.
My sister lived in Germany 3 years, and she said riding a community bus was just horrific because of the body odors! She said the shops carried all kinds of neat shower gels etc., but apparently no one uses them.
They probably wouldn't have that problem if they were all allowed to smoke at work!
Euro lab techs are already studying this phenomenom:

That's an angle I hadn't considered. Or maybe their co-workers were Poles.
That's what you get for coseying up to the French.
"...sticks in my nose and it is un-removable".
LOL
Off the subject, but don't be surprised if Rush addresses this. I think he must be reading Free Republic this morning.
I had no idea that there were that many migrant French workers in Germany.
I worked a cab for a while. I showered and used deodorant every day, but jumping in and out of the car, hauling luggage in and of the trunk, etc., plus the overall stress can get you sweaty in no time. Plus, part of what you're smelling could be some of the previous passengers in the cab.
I'm not saying driving a cab (especially in NYC) is not stressfull...I couldnt do it. BUT...you just said you bathed..I REALLY believe the stinky cab drivers I'm speaking of just dont bother to wash themselves, much less use deoderant.
I have opened the doors of more then a few cabs and refused to get inside one the smell was so bad...
Any NY Freepers out there have this experience?....
When I had the displeasure of living in Germany, there were literally times I had to stand close to someone in the grocery store and was gagged by the smell coming from them. Not just once or twice.
