"I don't think either one of these (especially the first) is really that bad. The first one especially strikes me as well within the bounds of acceptable political invective. The one showing Condi as Prissie in "Gone with the Wind," (which is not depicted here) however, is clearly racist."

I agree the first is just a political cartoon. YOu could have stuck Toni Blair's face as a bird and kept the lines the same.

The second is racist. "Brown Sugar?"

Funny how the black media and black politicians and religious leaders are not calling "foul."

The second is more problematic....but does not strike me as especially vicious (at least when compared to the "Gone with the Wind" cartoon. This is one that should be highlighted and condemned here.

Funny how the black media and black politicians and religious leaders are not calling "foul."

The main things this does is uncover the illusion of a 'black leadership'. It seems they are only 'leaders' of those who will follow. It's all politics and they see blacks only in terms of their votes. Apparently, they are perfectly willing to sacrifice that portion of the black population that doesn't agree with them and whose votes they don't own.
