I've heard that the movie smells worse than the Persian army at Issus. Alexander wouldn't have been the only Greek to, uh, switch mounts. In ancient Sparta it was compulsory. Should the list be pinged?
Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on, off, or alter the "Gods, Graves, Glyphs" PING list --
Archaeology/Anthropology/Ancient Cultures/Artifacts/Antiquities, etc.
The GGG Digest

"f*** you, it's your problem."

Ollie Stone sure has a way with words.

A box-office bomb means we get to tell him the same thing.

Oliver Stone, eh? This is the same idiot that made that film that has everybody believing these stupid conspiracy theories about JFK and makes a hero out of someone who prosecuted innocent people. He takes history and turns it into fiction, and then says it is still history.

Like Mickey Mouse Moore, his story will garner all the support of the H'weirdo elite and win the Academy Award. H'weirdos love to thumb their noses at the rest of the world. When a film doesn't make box office hit, then the film "wins critical acclaim." Hahahahah! Phoney as the Golden Globes.

for those of you from Rio Linda:

Helenistic influence means Greek influence.

I love this board.  You get news.  Generally good company.  Even geography lessons.  Is Rio Linda the place with all the junked cars?

When I saw helenistic, above, I thought I had misused my word, hellenic. Believe me, I've been known to do just that.  But, hellenic refers to Greek history more or less concluding with the death of Alexander.

Enjoyed it much and hope to see ya'll in another thread coming to a theater near you . . . very soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

"Want a good movie? Go see Friday Night Lights."

Thanks for the recommendation. I look forward to seeing this and will let you know when I do.
I read the reviews and it reminds me of the small town my little brother played basketball for in high school. They always went to state and it sure was fun.

I suppose this confirms the rumors are true. Wonder if the film is also as bad as rumored?

Yes.

Between this crap, Troy, and Arthur we won't see another historical epic for 30 years...
