It's funny. Isn't Peter Jennings supposedly the most leftist of all the 3 MSM major news anchors? (Jenning, Dan Rather, Tom Brokraw (sp?)) Why would he want to badmouth the US Left's darlingboy?
Peter definitely trails Rather in the leftist rankings, but not by all that much.
I think Jennings was simply trying to give Clinton a chance to run through his usual litany of "rightwing conspiracy, sex-obssessed, couldn't win at the ballot box" whines in a friendly forum. It's probably like sweet music to Jennings' ears.
The problem is Clinton was too touchy and took it the wrong way. Peter's probably really hurt that Clinton misunderstood his intent.

Check the transcript again. Jennings didn't "badmouth" him. He gave him a chance to explain and defend himself (for the umpteenth time).
He still won't realize that clinton is a psychopath.
Because the MSM knows what the rest of us do - Clinton destroyed the democrat party. The Jury is back, and the votes are in.

Clinton did squat for 8 years, gave Republicans the peace and security issue for the next 12 years, and to boot he used the White House like a double wide in Laughlin, NV.
Until he dies, the party is going to carry his stink, and the media is going right along with it. Jennings, Rather - this is NOT the way they wanted to end their careers. Clinton is to blame for it - they'll deny their own responsibility in not doing more to stop Clinton when they had the ability and responsibility to do so.

A few things lead up to this. First, the national anchors were deeply shaken when Tom Brokaw was booed at Oklahoma University last weekend. (They have NO idea how thoroughly they are reviled in the heartland.) And they are very sensitive to being unloved.
So, in order to establish a "balanced" credential, he throws a teensy, blunted jab at Governor Clinton. He can do this because the national election is over (so no risk of dunning a dem) and Governor Clinton isn't running for anything ever again.
It worked, too. Sort of, anyway. Some here are remarking about Jenning's about face. I'm here to suggest to you that Jenning's question was not at all genuine.
We all thought it Bill they loved. When in fact it was Hillary. Bill is no longer useful to Hillary, unless he become Secretary General, so he is probably not long for this world. the leftist media now marches to Hillary's drum. Perhaps they're setting the stage for Hillary to be the poor little victim wife of a womanizer.
I would give Rather the nod for taking his career down in blazes by using forged documents to try and falsely accuse a sitting Republican president.
You the left has a propensity for turning on their own...we all will live to see the day when the final failure of the American progressive cause will be laid at BJ's feet-by the left.
