Annan has been in the line of fire over a high-profile series of scandals including controversy about a UN aid programme that investigators say allowed deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to embezzle billions of dollars.

I just received an email from Kofi asking me to be his partner in transferring millions of dollars out of secret bank accounts. Do you think it is legit? [/humor]

Why stop there? It's time to hold a vote and blow out the U.N. completely. All those in favor?

Exactly - this is nothing but a self-serving smokescreen - throw Annan to the wolves and maybe they wont come after us.

Lease is up.

Wow, what a month!

**Secretary General Bill Clinton**

That was my first thought after reading the thread title. Yesterday at Clinton's presidential (small 'p' intended) Library & Massage Parlor grand opening, he spoke a bit about the global world. I sensed he was greasing the doors for his arrival to the UN. ugh.

They should be kicked out of permanent member of the security council and be replaced by pro-Iraq War countries,

I respectfully disagree.

the whole shebangs needs to go.

Close up shop.

You can change the players but the nature of the beast remains. They will throw some bones to the wolves, hoping to survive to regroup another day but they must be gone altogether.

As long as an outfit that big remains, world dominance, world rule, ONE WORLD GOV"T sill hover just over the horizon. Getting rid of the top culprits does not change the plans already drawn for the UN to rule International gun control

In charge of the Internet

International tax on the Internet (rule us and make us pay for it)

etc...THIS is the nature of the beast. The BEAST must be "killed." Get the UN out of the US - No more $ to the UN - and hopefully, it will sicken and die.

Just what we need - replacing one corrupt SG with another whose ethically-challenged life has been exposed and convicted. Bill at the UN and Hillary in the White House ? What will be left of freedom after that ?

I have an idea we'll never see that. It seems that a power greater than us all has intervened - has had "enough already!" and is separating the wheat from the chaft.

They are getting whupped up side the head from the right, left and straight on - and from above.

Ain't it a great day!

WE keep getting these 'gifts' - ever since election day...

yesterday was the Clinttons and ilk in the Texas rain at the Liebary opening - and the Jennings/Clintoon confrontation.

today, more on Annan's slide from power - taking, hopefully, the UN with him.

He said it was all about Annan giving a free ride to two high-ranking U.N. officials who have been accused of sexual harassment.

Histoircally massive graft and corruption, OK.
Allowing butchery of the innocent, OK.
Fomenting starvation and disease, OK.
Pedophilia rings, OK.
Trafficking in women, OK...

Male sexuality in the workplace... insurrection.

I'm as thrilled as anyone over the Bush re-election, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with this particular UN/Annan scandal IMHO. This fool was going down regardless of who won our presidency; you can only be so sloppy, so transparently corrupt for so long before you get yanked so someone slicker can step in.

Methinks the hand of Clinton may be behind this.

Once Kofi's star sets, Bill's will rise.
