UN staff in sex scandal (hello MSM, anyone there?)

UN Secretary General Koffi Annan admitted Friday there was clear evidence that civilian staff and a small number of troops in its peacekeeping force in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) had committed sexual abuse, saying he was outraged by the incidents.

Annan said in a statement released in Nairobi that he had received a "detailed briefing... about the investigations which the UN initiated some time ago into allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse by both civilian and military peacekeeping personnel in the DRC."

"I am afraid there is clear evidence that acts of gross misconduct have taken place. This is a shameful thing for the United Nations to have to say, and I am absolutely outraged by it," Annan said in the statement.

The confession came as UN employees in New York were readying to make a historic vote of no confidence in Annan, sources told AFP.

The UN staff union, in what officials said was the first vote of its kind in the more than 50-year history of the United Nations, was set to approve a resolution withdrawing its support for the embattled Annan and UN management.

Annan has been in the line of fire over a high-profile series of scandals including controversy about a UN aid programme that investigators say allowed deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to embezzle billions of dollars.

You must be trippin if you think the MSM will ever show negative attention on something born out of such liberal ideas.

My contribution for the day:

Liberalism = Idealism; Conservative = Realism

Well, I know the UN solution. Pass a "resolution". If that doesn't work, pass another "resolution".

The UN staff probably thought they can subdue the populace by raping them.

"Well, I know the UN solution. Pass a 'resolution'."

First they have to form a subcommittee to "study" the problem, and THEN send it to the correct committee to debate on the strong wording of a "resolution"

IT'S TIME TO TAKE ACTION
REGARDING THE UNITED NATIONS

During the past several years we have seen a marked rise in the global threat of terrorism. Worldwide networks of radical Islamic terrorists have a shared goal of under-mining the national security of peaceful and free nations.

The United Nations was originally founded according to its charter "to unite our strength to maintain interna-tional peace and security". However, it has become ap-parent that leading voices in the United Nations have po-sitioned the organization so that it is increasingly a body that sides with those who find the use of terrorism against unarmed and innocent civilians tolerable.

Instead of serving as a rallying point for free nations and free people to unite to combat terrorism, the United Nations has become a safe harbor, apologist and defender of terrorist organizations and their agents.

Recently it has become clear that none other than the UN General Secretary himself, Kofi Annan, has been implicated in covering up the troubling "Oil for Food" scandal, and stonewalling investigators. The so-called "independent audit" of the alleged misdeeds of the UN's "Oil for Food" program is looking more and more like a whitewash.

Why? Evidence suggests that Mr. Annan and his son, Kojo, may themselves have been involved in wrongdoing in partnership with Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein. High-ranking officials throughout the UN are now suspected of financially benefiting from maintaining Saddam Hussein in power, despite his despotic rule and ties to worldwide terrorism and refusal to accept UN resolutions.

Money from the "Oil for Food" scheme not only went to pay the families of Palestinian terrorists, and journal-ists and officials in countries opposing the Iraqi action, but it looks like it also went to purchase the weapons that so called "insurgents" are now using in Iraq to kill coali-tion forces, Iraqi security forces, and innocent Iraqi civil-ians.

No longer should the United States of America serve as the host to an institution that serves as a forum for oppo-sition to our national interests. Further, the United States should reexamine the extent of its financial support of such an agency.

You can take action right now. Please sign our peti-tion to "Get the UN out of the USA":

http://www.moveamericaforward.org/?Page=Petition

And please pass this email along to others and ask them to sign the petition as well. We want to make sure that we get millions of people all across America to sign on!

We need your help to make sure that this gets shared with everyone you know.
