...Freemans tuesday night the 16th of nov. the bush twins along with 2 massive secret service men tried to have dinner they were told by the maitre 'd that they were full and would be for the next 4 years upon hearing the entire restaurant cheered and did a round of shots it was amazing!!! [Ed: We're hearing that this is actually true.]...

Regarding the Internet rumors, no member of Freeman's staff made any derogatory or discriminating comments towards Jenna or Barbara Bush. We are a non-partisan establishment and pride ourselves on having a diverse clientele. The Bush twins or any member of the first family are welcome to join us for dinner anytime.

Ah, does that meaning that the editor, AFTER publishing it anyway, now thinks that it might, in fact, be true -- or not?

I don't care how noisy the restaurant is. If the President's daughters and SS walk in the door, everyone in the restaurant is going to know.

Not really. They are often celebs with or without bodyguards in all places in NYC and people don't respond because they are so used to it.

Why are you defending this position so dramatically. I used to live in NY too. But this is not Sarah Jessica Parker we're talking about. It's THE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTERS.

I haven't read the thread yet, but political affiliation is a long-neglected area of prejudice, which needs or does not need to be addressed depending on your view of these laws in general.

have you been to the Bowery lately? I drove through a couple weeks back, I was amazed, they are gentrifying the area. rows of shops going in where the bums used to gather. some trendy restaurants going in too I guess.

.

he never said "yes". but put little effort into his lies. he didnt believe them and knew i wouldnt. it was clear. mostly we talked about the lack of wisdom in the restaurants behavior. hate to say it but he was the nicest person ive spoken to on the phone in a year. last thing i told him was i wish him safety but nyc isnt getting any pity or money from me should the worst happen.

"I don't care how noisy the restaurant is. If the President's daughters and SS walk in the door, everyone in the restaurant is going to know."

The people in this neighborhood are just not that uncivil. They enjoy playing up the crazed leftwing radical schtick for out-of-towners, especially when there is a TV crew like at the RNC convention, but I think they would be more than civil to the twins. You must understand that new yorkers would think this is a funny P.R. stunt. I wouldn't take it as true until you see it reported somewhere besides gawker or until you see a spokesman for the twins confirm it.

But you did vote for her heinous after mr. grifter pardoned terrorists.

I most certainly did NOT. Let's not push the inclusion too far!

Exactly. I'm saying it's very possible that some or most patrons did not applaud, much less witness this - or it's untrue. orangelobster has a good point.

I'm waiting to hear what the guy who posted #238 says. He said the manager confirmed it. I just don't see this as being a very good publicity stunt. We're only talking about people at that restaurant that night, not people in the neighborhood. I can easily see how this could happen.

I find it amusing that the people who are from New York are so quick to say it didn't happen. It was in one restaurant. How can you think you know what every New Yorker would do?

I live in the neighborhood and I really can't see a restaurant full of people cheering like this

Only if they were out-of-towners ;-)
