Even French brand names are surrendering these days! I'm quite sure that "Franco-American" is as popular a brand name these days as Mitsubishi would have been during WW II.

They're selling 2 cans for $1.00 at the neighborhood grocery store, a lot of Tabasco sauce makes them pretty good.

The brand survived Francisco Franco, but not Jacques Chirac.

LOL one of the competitors is "Heinz." It looks like Chef Boyardee is going to win this battle.

I used to love the stuffed ravioli they do, but got burned out on them in college. (I still have a few cans of F-A in my food storage - maybe its time to put those puppies on EBay) :)

"Muhammad-Os"

They kidnap the Lucky Charms leprechaun and behead him unless you send in Quake to "negotiate" his release.

I still buy French's mustard. It's made in America and the only thing it has in common with the French is that they're both yellow.

How can a nation who eat glorified snot in the form of l'escargot have the nerve to brand it as haute cuisine?

I bought store brands when I was poor and foolish. Now that I'm not so poor but still foolish, I still use 'em.

(I do use W Ketchup though - no Heinz will ever darken my pantry again).

Memo to the camp cook - ALWAYS poke a hole or two in the can before you put it near the campfire. Can go boom otherwise (better than throwing a handful of bullets in).

The tabasco might be the only edible part of that dish.
